Ship orders with Shiprocket
Connect your Shiprocket account, then create the shipment, pick a courier, print the label and book the pickup from inside each order — with tracking flowing back on its own.

Shiprocket is a courier aggregator: one account that lets you compare and book many courier companies. Connect it and every order in your dashboard gets a Ship with Shiprocket panel with four steps — package details, courier, label and pickup. The courier's tracking number and delivery status then flow back into the order on their own.
It is optional and free on every SitesPlaced plan. You use your own Shiprocket account and wallet, and we add nothing on top of what Shiprocket charges. If you only send a few parcels a week, shipping by hand is perfectly fine — see How to fulfil an order from new to delivered.
Before you start
- A Shiprocket account with a pickup address added. Every shipment is sent from your primary pickup address in Shiprocket.
- Money in your Shiprocket wallet. Booking a courier charges the wallet straight away.
- Under Settings → Checkout → Checkout form fields, keep Phone and Delivery Address ticked as Required. Shiprocket only accepts a 10-digit mobile number, and courier rates cannot be fetched without the customer's pincode.
Step 1 — Connect your account
- 1From your store dashboard, open Settings → Integrations and find the Shiprocket Logistics card.
- 2Click Set Up Shiprocket. A short guide opens with four stages along the top: Sign Up, API User, Connect and Done.
- 3New to Shiprocket? Press Sign Up on Shiprocket →, create your account, then press I've Signed Up → Next. Already have an account? Press Already have account to jump ahead.
- 4The guide recommends a separate login just for this connection. In your Shiprocket dashboard go to Settings → API → Create API User, set a strong password, and note down the email and password. You can use your main Shiprocket login instead if you prefer. Press I'm Ready → Next.
- 5Type the Shiprocket email and Password and click Connect Shiprocket. We sign in to Shiprocket once to check them. When they are accepted the card turns Active and shows your account email.
Your password is encrypted before it is stored — see How SitesPlaced handles your keys. The advantage of an API user is that you can delete that one login in Shiprocket at any time without touching your main account.
One courier service at a time
A store uses one courier service at a time. Connecting Shiprocket, or switching it on, pauses Shipmozo Logistics and Rehbar Post Logistics if either was active. Orders already booked with the other service keep their own shipping panel, so you can still print their labels and track them. Setup for the other two is in Manage orders & shipments.
Step 2 — Add the webhook so tracking updates itself
A webhook is a message Shiprocket sends your store each time a parcel moves. Once you are connected, the card shows two values with Copy buttons: a Webhook URL and a Token.
- 1In your Shiprocket dashboard, open Settings → Webhooks.
- 2Paste the Webhook URL from the card.
- 3Paste the Token from the card into Shiprocket's Token field. Shiprocket sends it with every update, which is how we know the message really came from your account.
- 4Save.
You can ship without this step, but then the order in your dashboard will not move on its own. You would have to press Mark shipped, Out for delivery and Mark delivered yourself.
Step 3 — Ship an order
Orders are not sent to Shiprocket on their own
Nothing reaches Shiprocket until you press Create shipment inside an order, whatever the note at the bottom of the card suggests. That is on purpose: you check the order and the box size first, then send it.
- 1Open Orders and click the order. Scroll down to the Ship with Shiprocket panel.
- 2Package details — enter the Length (cm), Breadth (cm), Height (cm) and Weight (kg) of the packed box. They start at 10 × 10 × 10 cm and 0.5 kg, so correct them: size and weight decide the price and which couriers are offered. Click Create shipment. The step turns green with Shipment created — Order #…, and a Shiprocket #… tag appears near the top of the order.
- 3Book a courier — a list of couriers loads, each with its price and estimated delivery days. The first one is tagged Recommended and is already selected; pick another if you prefer. If the weight changed, correct Weight (kg) for rates and press Refresh rates. Then click Book courier (charges wallet). The step shows Booked — Tracking number (AWB): followed by the number and the courier's name.
- 4Shipping label — click Generate label, then View / Print label. Print it and stick it on the parcel before the courier arrives.
- 5Schedule pickup — click Schedule pickup to ask the courier to collect the parcel from your pickup address.
What is an AWB?
AWB stands for air waybill. In practice it is simply the courier's tracking number for that parcel. Once an order has one, your customer sees it on your store's Track Order page next to the courier's name.
A note on the Pickup date box in the last step: Shiprocket decides the actual pickup slot. The date you choose is not passed on to Shiprocket, so treat it as a note to yourself and confirm the slot in your Shiprocket panel.
Which orders can be shipped
Cash on Delivery and Bank Transfer / UPI orders can be shipped as soon as they arrive. The panel refuses, with a plain message, in these cases:
- A Pay Online order that has not been paid yet. You will see Payment hasn't been received for this order yet. Ship it once it's paid.
- An order that is cancelled, refunded, already delivered or archived.
- An order that Qikink, Shipmozo or Rehbar Post is already handling, or one that already has a tracking number from another courier.
- An order whose phone number is not a 10-digit Indian mobile number — Shiprocket rejects those.
Tracking and delivery
With the webhook in place, Shiprocket tells your store each time the parcel moves. The order changes to Shipped when it is picked up or in transit, Out for Delivery when it is with the delivery agent, and Completed when it is delivered. Each change is written into the order's Activity list with the courier's name and the AWB. Your customer sees the same on Track Order: the courier, the Tracking no. and the Courier status.
If the courier cancels the shipment, or the parcel cannot be delivered and is sent back to you — couriers call this RTO, short for return to origin — the order is marked Cancelled and, if you track stock, the items go back into stock. Status changes are not emailed to the customer; share the tracking number on WhatsApp from the order if they ask.
If something goes wrong
No couriers show up in step 2.
Usually one of three things. The customer's pincode is missing or wrong. Your Shiprocket account has no pickup address — you will see Could not get pickup pincode from Shiprocket. Ensure your pickup address is configured. Or no courier serves that route at that weight. Fix the cause and press Refresh rates.
Booking the courier failed.
The message starts Shiprocket couldn't book the courier: and then gives Shiprocket's own reason. The common ones are an empty wallet, no pickup address, or a courier that does not serve the route. Top up, or pick another courier, and try again.
I cancelled the order. Is the courier cancelled too?
No. Cancelling an order in SitesPlaced does not cancel the booking in Shiprocket. Cancel the shipment in your Shiprocket panel as well.
Can I change the courier after booking?
Not from your store dashboard. Once step 2 shows an AWB it is final here, so make the change in your Shiprocket panel.
I reopened the order and step 4 is asking me to schedule the pickup again.
The dashboard does not remember that you pressed Schedule pickup. If you already did, there is no need to press it again — check the pickup in your Shiprocket panel.
How do I pause or remove Shiprocket?
The switch on the card pauses it: the status reads Paused and the Ship with Shiprocket panel stops appearing on new orders. Disconnect removes your Shiprocket login from our systems. Orders you already pushed still show their panel, but its buttons only work while Shiprocket is switched on — finish those shipments in your Shiprocket panel.
