Sell print-on-demand merch with Printify

Connect your own Printify account so t-shirts, hoodies, mugs and posters are printed and shipped for you when they sell — no stock, no parcels.

Last updated 26 August 2026

Printify prints and ships merchandise for you. You design a t-shirt, hoodie, mug or poster in Printify, link it to a product in your store, and when someone buys it Printify prints it, packs it and posts it to your customer. Nothing is made until it sells, so there is no stock to buy and no parcels for you to handle.

You connect your own Printify account. Printify bills you for printing and postage; SitesPlaced charges nothing for the integration and takes 0% of the sale.

Printing within India?

Use Qikink instead — it prints and ships domestically, so delivery times and costs suit Indian buyers. Printify is aimed at US, UK and EU customers. Both are free on our side.

Connect your account

  1. 1In Printify, open My Profile → Connections and generate a personal access token. Copy it — Printify shows it only once.
  2. 2In your store dashboard, open Settings → Integrations and paste it into the Printify card.
  3. 3Pick which Printify shop to fulfil from. If your account has only one, we select it for you.
  4. 4Decide whether orders should go straight to production. Leave this off for your first few orders — they will wait in Printify as drafts for you to check.

Printify tokens expire after one year

This is the one thing to watch. If the token expires, orders stop reaching the printer — and they'll still look fine in your dashboard. We warn you on the Printify card about a month before, and again once it has probably lapsed. Generate a fresh token under My Profile → Connections and reconnect; nothing else changes.

Connecting the account isn't enough on its own — each product needs to know which Printify product fulfils it. On a product, choose the matching Printify product and variant (the specific colour and size). Products you don't link are untouched and ship however you ship them today.

This is deliberate. A cart mixing a printed shirt with something you post yourself creates a Printify order for the shirt only, and leaves the rest to you.

What happens when someone buys

  • The order is paid and confirmed in your dashboard as normal.
  • The linked lines are sent to Printify with your customer's delivery address.
  • If auto-submit is on, printing starts immediately. If not, the order waits in Printify for you to approve.
  • Printify emails your customer tracking when the parcel ships, and the order in your dashboard carries the Printify status.

What it costs

The integration is free on every plan and we take 0% of the sale. Printify charges you per item printed plus shipping, billed to your own Printify account — so your margin is the difference between what you charge and what Printify charges you. Their optional Premium subscription lowers product costs; whether it is worth it depends on your volume.

Common questions

Do I need to hold stock?

No. Nothing is printed until someone orders it. That is the whole point of print-on-demand — no money tied up in boxes that might not sell.

Can I sell my own products in the same store?

Yes. Only products you explicitly link to Printify are fulfilled by Printify. Everything else ships however you ship it today, including through Shippo.

My orders stopped reaching Printify.

Check the Printify card in Settings → Integrations. The usual cause is an expired token — they last a year. Generate a new one in Printify under My Profile → Connections and reconnect.

Can I check an order before it prints?

Yes. Turn off 'send straight to production' and paid orders arrive in Printify as drafts. Worth doing until you trust the setup.

Is my Printify token safe?

It is encrypted before storage and never appears in your website's pages. It can create orders on your Printify account — that is what it is for — so disconnect here, or delete the token in Printify, if you stop using it.

Printify or Qikink?

Qikink prints and ships within India; Printify serves the US, UK and EU. Pick by where your customers are. Both connect with your own account and both are free on our side.
