Sales boosters: the conversion tools
Social-proof and welcome popups, a slide-out cart, frequently bought together, a post-purchase upsell, Buy X Get Y offers and a WhatsApp bubble. What each one does and how to set it up.

What they are
The Sales boosters section of Settings holds the tools that work on a shopper who is already on your store: proof that other people are buying, a reason to buy today, a reason to add one more item, and a way to ask you a question first. They are switches, not projects.
Most boosters need the Growth plan
The social-proof popup, the welcome popup, the slide-out cart, frequently bought together, the post-purchase upsell, Buy X Get Y offers and the WhatsApp bubble run on Growth (₹499/month) and above. They are not included with Free or Starter. Coupon codes and the free-shipping bar stay free on every plan, as do the product image hover and the category label setting.
Where to find them
- 1Open your store dashboard and go to Settings.
- 2Open the Sales boosters section, or type *popup*, *upsell* or *cart* into the Search settings… box at the top.
- 3Switch on what you want, then press Save in the bar at the bottom. Every change is a draft until you do, so set several up and save once.
- 4Open your live store and check each one on a phone.
Buy X Get Y offers are the one booster that lives elsewhere, under Settings → Discounts → Offers, next to your coupon codes.
Free-shipping bar
A sticky bar that says how much more the shopper needs to add for free delivery. It is free on every plan and has no switch: it appears once you have set both a delivery charge and a free delivery above amount under Settings → Shipping. The card here tells you whether it is on, with a button through to those settings. It is hidden on a cart of digital downloads.
Social proof popup
A small message in the corner of your storefront that says something like *Priya from Mumbai just bought this*. Tick Show recent-sales popup on my storefront and save.
- It uses your real recent confirmed orders. Nothing is invented, so a store that has not sold yet shows nothing. It starts on its own once orders come in.
- Only the buyer's first name, city and the product are shown. No phone number, no email address, no order value, no full name.
Welcome and promo popup
A one-time popup for a first-time visitor that hands over one of your coupon codes. Tick Show a promo popup to first-time visitors and the rest of the fields appear.
- 1Write the Heading, for example *Get 10% off your first order*.
- 2Write the Subtext, for example *Use this code at checkout.*
- 3Pick the Coupon to show from the list of your active coupons. Choose No code, announcement only if you just want to say something, such as a festival delivery cut-off.
- 4Optionally tick Ask for email before revealing the code. The shopper types their email, the code appears, and it is emailed to them as well.
The list only holds coupons that are active and have a code, so create the coupon first under Settings → Discounts. The heading updates its discount figure to match the code you pick. Emails captured this way land in your Messages tab.
Slide-out cart
Tick Open a slide-out cart drawer on cart-icon click and tapping the cart opens a panel over the page instead of loading a separate one. The shopper can change quantities, see how close they are to free delivery, and see a suggestion of something else you sell, without losing their place. Leave it off and the cart icon goes to your full cart page as before.
Frequently bought together
Tick Show “frequently bought together” on product pages and each product page gains a row of complementary products with one button that adds the group to the cart. You can rename the heading, which reads *Frequently bought together* by default.
Post-purchase upsell
Tick Show an upsell after an order is placed and the order-placed screen offers a couple more products with one-click add. It cannot cost you the first order, because that one is already placed.
Buy X Get Y offers
Under Settings → Discounts → Offers. An offer makes the cheapest qualifying items in the cart free, and it applies itself: the shopper does not type a code.
- 1Press to add an offer and give it a name, for example *Festive Buy 2 Get 1*. The name is for you.
- 2Set Buy quantity and Get free. Buy 2, get 1 free is the usual starting point.
- 3Set Applies to: All products, or A category and then which one.
- 4Set Free item comes from: Same products as above (cheapest free), Any product in the cart, or A different category and then which one. The last option is how you run *buy a handbag, get an accessory free*.
- 5Tick Active, then Save. The line under the fields spells the offer back to you in words so you can check it before saving.
The discount is worked out on our server when the order is priced, so a shopper cannot tamper with it. Offers stack with a coupon code, and the combined discount never goes past the value of the goods.
WhatsApp chat bubble
Tick Show a floating WhatsApp button on my storefront and a WhatsApp button sits in the corner of every store page. Set a Prefilled message so the chat opens with the question already typed. The bubble uses the WhatsApp number in Settings → Store details, so add that first. Until you do, the card tells you the bubble is not active.
The two free extras in this section
- Product image hover swaps a product card to its second photo when a shopper hovers over it. Products with only one photo are unaffected.
- Category label on product cards hides the small category line under product names. Turn it off when your categories are merchandising groups such as *Bestsellers* or *Under ₹2000* rather than real product types.
Product reviews also live in this section, but they are their own feature with their own guide: see Collect product reviews. They need the Growth plan too.
What happens if your plan lapses
Nothing is deleted. Your settings are kept exactly as you left them and the boosters stop running on the storefront: the popups do not appear, the cart goes back to a full page, and Buy X Get Y offers stop being priced. The section then says *Boosters you switched on are saved and paused. They go live again the moment you upgrade.* Pay again and everything comes back with the same settings, offers included. A trial works the same way: every booster is live during the 14 days, and pauses rather than resets when it ends.
Which ones to switch on first
- If your average order is small: frequently bought together, then the free-shipping bar with a threshold a little above your usual order.
- If shoppers browse and leave: the welcome popup with a real first-order coupon.
- If shoppers ask questions before buying: the WhatsApp bubble.
- Switch them on one at a time and give each a week. Turning on six at once tells you nothing about which one worked.
Do coupon codes need a paid plan?
No. Coupon codes and the free-shipping bar are free on every plan, and always have been. What needs Growth is Buy X Get Y offers and the popups, cart drawer, upsells and WhatsApp bubble.
Does the Starter plan include the boosters?
No. Starter (₹199/month) covers your own domain, badge removal, AI copy, analytics, custom code and Meta Pixel with the Conversions API. The selling tools on this page start at Growth.
I turned the boosters on but nothing shows on my store. Why?
Three usual reasons. You have not pressed Save at the bottom of Settings. Your plan does not include boosters, in which case the section shows a locked panel. Or the booster has nothing to show yet: the social-proof popup needs recent confirmed orders, the promo popup needs an active coupon, and the WhatsApp bubble needs a number in Store details.
Will I lose my settings if I cancel?
No. Every booster setting and every Buy X Get Y offer is kept. They pause on the storefront and come back the moment you are on a plan that includes them.
