AI credits: what they cost and what they buy

One credit is one rupee of face value. The published price of every AI action, your 1,500 credits a month, top-up packs, automatic refunds when a generation fails, and where the balance is shown.

AI work costs real money to run, so it is metered. The unit is a credit, and one credit is one rupee of face value. Every action has a published price you can see before you press the button, and the AI Co-founder plan comes with 1,500 credits every month.

Credits are per account, not per store, and they are only used by AI work. Nothing else on SitesPlaced spends them: taking an order, editing a product, sending an invoice and running a coupon are all free as always.

What each action costs

  • Agent message to Builder, Co-founder, Growth or SEO: 1 credit per message you send.
  • Campaign plan: 5 credits per plan.
  • SEO audit of the whole store: 5 credits per audit. Applying the rewrites it proposes is free.
  • Image, draft quality: 2 credits. Fast, for exploring directions.
  • Image, standard quality: 12 credits. Social posts, WhatsApp, product cards.
  • Image, premium (2K): 25 credits. Hero shots, ads, banners.
  • Image, ultra: 45 credits. Best text-in-image and realism, or 4K.
  • Carousel slide: 12 credits per slide. A five-slide carousel is 60 credits.
  • Customer chat reply: 1 credit per shopper message, if you switch the storefront assistant on.

The price list also carries a product copy rewrite at 1 credit per product, for rewriting descriptions in bulk. There is no button for it in the dashboard yet. To rewrite descriptions today, ask the Growth agent, which costs 1 credit per message.

Every screen that spends credits shows the number on the button first: *Generate · 12 credits*, *Plan the campaign · 5 credits*, *Run the audit · 5 credits*. Nothing is ever charged without that number being on screen.

Your monthly allowance

The AI Co-founder plan grants 1,500 credits on every paid month. Yearly subscribers get the same 1,500 each month rather than 18,000 up front. To give a sense of scale, 1,500 credits is:

  • 1,500 agent messages, or
  • 125 standard images, or
  • 60 premium ad creatives, or
  • 25 five-slide carousels.

Those are the extremes. A normal month is a mix: a handful of agent conversations, an SEO audit, a campaign plan, a dozen product photos and a carousel or two.

Credits carry over. The monthly grant is added to whatever you have; nothing resets your balance to zero. If you used 400 credits last month, this month starts at 2,600.

Top-up packs

When a festival month needs more than the allowance, buy a one-time pack. Press the credits pill at the top of the AI Co-founder tab, or Top up on the AI credits card in Dashboard → Billing.

  • 500 credits for ₹499 (about $9.99). Roughly 40 standard images, or 500 agent messages.
  • 1,000 credits for ₹999 (about $17.99). Roughly 80 standard or 40 premium creatives.
  • 2,500 credits for ₹2,499 (about $39.99). Roughly 200 standard creatives, which is a festival season.

Packs are priced at about a rupee a credit, the same as the face value, so there is no penalty for topping up and no bonus for buying big. In India the payment opens in the Razorpay window and the balance updates on the spot. Elsewhere it goes through a hosted checkout page and the credits arrive when the payment confirms. Topped-up credits do not expire while your subscription is active.

Refunds when something fails

Credits are charged before the model runs, so a request can never run for free. If the model then fails, the credits go straight back. You do not have to ask.

  • An image that fails to render is refunded in full.
  • A campaign plan or SEO audit that fails is refunded in full.
  • In a carousel, only the failed slides are refunded. A five-slide carousel where slide 3 fails refunds 12 credits and keeps the other four. In its place the slide says it failed and the credits were returned.
  • A storefront assistant reply that fails is refunded.

Every charge and every refund is a line in your credit ledger, so you can check. A refund is noted as a failed generation with the credits returned.

When you run out

Nothing breaks. The AI stops and tells you.

  • In the AI Co-founder tab the button is replaced by *Not enough credits (you have N). Top up*.
  • In an agent chat you get *You're out of AI credits. Top up from the AI Co-founder tab to keep chatting.*
  • On your live store, the storefront assistant quietly stops answering and offers the shopper your WhatsApp instead. It never shows a shopper an error about your billing.

The storefront assistant spends credits while you sleep

It is the only AI action a customer can trigger, at 1 credit per shopper message. There is no monthly spending cap you can set. The controls are the switch itself, a limit of 60 messages per shopper per day, and your balance. Read Storefront assistant before you turn it on.

Where the balance is shown

  • The AI Co-founder tab header shows a pill: *1,500 credits · top up*. Press it to buy a pack.
  • The Overview section of that tab shows Credits as one of three numbers, with a Top up link.
  • Dashboard → Billing has an AI credits card with the balance, the line *1 credit = ₹1*, a note that 1,500 arrive every month, and the last six ledger entries with the plus or minus on each.

If a screen says *AI credits are being set up*, the credit ledger has not finished being provisioned on your account. Contact support and it will be sorted; you are not being charged for anything in the meantime.

Work that costs nothing

Some of the plan does not touch credits at all:

  • Applying anything: SEO rewrites, an agent's Apply card, attaching a generated image to a product.
  • Cart reminders, broadcasts, scheduled promotions and the Monday digest. These are part of the plan and are not metered.
  • Reading your numbers on the Overview section.
  • Through the MCP connector: reading your store insights, reading your SEO, saving SEO copy you wrote, and scheduling a promotion are all 0 credits, because your own AI assistant did the thinking. Only image generation spends credits there.
Do unused credits expire at the end of the month?

No. The monthly 1,500 is added to your balance and nothing resets it. Topped-up credits do not expire either, while your subscription is active.

What happens to my credits if I cancel the plan?

The AI features stop working when the plan lapses, so there is nothing left to spend the balance on. The number stays on your account; if you resubscribe later, it is still there.

Can I set a monthly spending limit?

Not today. There is no cap you can set on credit spend. The allowance itself is the limit: when the balance reaches zero, everything stops and asks you to top up rather than billing you.

Why does the same image cost 12 credits at standard and 45 at ultra?

Different image models, and the expensive ones genuinely cost us more per picture. Ultra is worth it when the image carries text that must be spelled right, or when you need 4K. For a WhatsApp post, standard is the right choice.

Are credits shared across my stores?

The balance sits on your account, so if you hold more than one store on the plan they draw from the same balance.
