Getting Started

New to SitesPlaced? Create your account and get your first website or online store live — for free — in a few minutes.

This section walks you from a blank browser tab to a live website or online store. It covers the five things every new account does in order: understanding what SitesPlaced is, creating your account, finding your way around the Dashboard, building your first site or store, and publishing it on a free link you can share on WhatsApp and Instagram. Nothing here needs a card, and nothing here needs code.

Who this is for

Getting Started is written for people opening their first SitesPlaced account: Instagram and WhatsApp sellers who want a real checkout, freelancers and small businesses who need a simple website, students building a portfolio, gym owners, and anyone making a wedding or event invite. If you already have a site here and want to change something specific — products, payments, a domain — skip ahead to Online Stores, Payments & Orders or Custom Domains.

How the pieces fit together

Everything you build sits under one login. Your Dashboard lists every site and store as a card, and the New Site button starts a new one. From there, SitesPlaced asks What do you want to create? and offers four paths: Personal Website, Student Portfolio, Ecommerce Store, and Gym & Fitness Studio. Websites open in the site editor (desktop only) where you edit sections, text and colours. Stores open in the Store Dashboard, which has tabs for Home, Orders, Products, Messages, Reviews, Subscribers, Analytics, Design and Settings, and works on your phone.

There is also a shortcut. The Importer builds a site or store for you from an Instagram handle, an existing website, a PDF catalogue or résumé, and a few other sources. You see a preview first, then sign up and publish in one click. Many sellers never touch a template picker at all.

The order to do things

  1. 1Read What is SitesPlaced? if you want the one-page picture of what you can build and what costs money (very little).
  2. 2Create your account with Google or an email and password. A short onboarding asks what you are building; you can skip it.
  3. 3Take the Dashboard tour so you know where your sites live, where your plan is shown, and how to open the editor or store dashboard.
  4. 4Build your first site or store — pick a template and fill it in, or let the Importer do it from your Instagram.
  5. 5Publish and share. Your free link looks like yourname.sitesplaced.site. Paste it in your Instagram bio and WhatsApp status.

What is free and what is paid

Publishing is free for every kind of site, with a small SitesPlaced badge. A free account can create up to 5 sites, and a free store gets unlimited products, 0% commission, Razorpay (UPI and cards), Cash on Delivery, WhatsApp checkout, Shiprocket and Shipmozo shipping, and 500 MB of image storage. You pay only for extras: Starter at ₹199/month adds a custom domain, branding removal, AI copy, analytics, custom head code and Meta Pixel + Conversions API to any website or store. Growth at ₹499/month (early-bird for the first 50 stores; ₹999/month after) adds the selling features on top — WhatsApp Business API alerts, the sales boosters, product reviews and 1-click checkout. A Student portfolio is ₹99 one-time to remove the badge. Full details are on the pricing page and in Plans & Billing.

Manage it from your phone

The SitesPlaced app for Android is on Google Play. It handles orders, products and publishing on the go. iOS is coming soon. See the mobile app.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Sign up with Google or an email address, build, and publish — all free. A card or UPI is only needed if you later buy the Growth, Starter or Student upgrade.

How long does it take to get a site live?

A store from the Importer takes about a minute including sign-up. A template-based website or store takes 10–20 minutes if you add your own text and photos. Publishing itself is one click.

Can I build on my phone?

Stores, yes — the Store Dashboard and the Android app both work on phones. The website editor is desktop only, so build websites on a laptop. You can still view and share any site from your phone.

Can I have more than one site?

Yes. A free account can create up to 5 sites — for example a store and a personal website. Each one gets its own link and its own settings.
