Loyalty: QR stamp cards, scratch cards and locations
Put a QR at your counter, give every customer a digital stamp card on their phone (no app, no OTP), reward a full card, add scratch cards with your own odds, and run one programme across branches.

What it is
Loyalty gives every customer a digital stamp card tied to their phone number. They scan a QR at your counter, type their number, and a stamp is added to a card they can see on their phone at once. When the card fills, they get the reward you named, with a code they show you at the counter. Paid online orders can add stamps to the same card, so a customer who orders on WhatsApp on Tuesday and walks in on Saturday fills one card. Optional scratch cards add a surprise prize after a stamp, and Locations give each branch its own QR.
There is nothing for the customer to install and no OTP. The card lives at /rewards on your store's own address, and the customer's browser remembers their number on that device.
Growth plan
Loyalty, scratch cards and locations are part of the Growth plan (₹499/month). On other plans the Loyalty tab shows what is inside and offers the upgrade; everything else on your store stays as it is.
Switch it on
- 1Open your store dashboard and go to the Loyalty tab.
- 2Under Set up, choose the Stamps to fill the card (cafés usually do 6–10, salons 4–6), type the Reward when it fills in plain words (*A free filter coffee*), and add any Reward details and Terms. The Welcome line and Card colour are optional; the card uses your brand colour unless you set one.
- 3Choose the Stamp rule: QR scans at the counter and paid online orders, QR scans only, or paid online orders only.
- 4Press Save, then switch Programme on at the top of the tab. The status next to it changes from *Off — customers can't see it yet* to *Live on your store*.
The rewards page does not exist until the programme is on
Until you switch Programme on, /rewards on your store returns a not-found page and the printed QR opens nothing. Switch it on before you put the stand out.
Print the QR
- 1Open QR kit in the Loyalty tab.
- 2Press Download QR code for a PNG you can put on a sticker or a poster, or Print kit (A5 + tent) for a ready-to-print A5 stand card and an A4 table tent (fold in half), in your colours, with your logo and the line *Scan to collect stamps*. Print to paper or save as a PDF from the browser's print dialog.
- 3Put it where people wait: next to the payment QR at the counter, at chest height. Any acrylic stand from a stationery shop (about ₹150) holds the A5 card. The tent goes on tables.
The QR keeps working if you change your store's domain later; SitesPlaced redirects the old address.
How a customer collects a stamp
- They scan the QR with their phone camera. It opens the rewards page on your store.
- They type their phone number (a name is optional) and press the button. No app, no OTP, no password.
- The stamp is added and the card appears: for example *3 of 8*, with the reward named at the top. On that device the browser remembers them, so next time the scan alone adds the stamp.
- A cooldown stops one visit becoming several stamps: one stamp per phone number and per device within the period you set under Set up → Cooldown between QR stamps. The default is 240 minutes, that is four hours. If they scan again too soon, the card says *You already collected a stamp recently. Come back next visit!*
- A customer who opens the rewards page from your menu instead of the QR sees an I'm here — collect a stamp button; the same cooldown applies.
Tell your staff the nine words that make it work: *"Scan this, type your number, you get a stamp."*
Confirm, undo and redeem
The Today panel is the counter screen. It refreshes itself every half minute and shows:
- Waiting for your confirmation — appears when Staff confirms each scan is on under Set up. Each scan waits here until someone presses Confirm; the cross removes it. Until then the customer's card says the staff will confirm it in a moment.
- Activity — every stamp and reward as it happens, with the location if you have branches. Press undo next to a confirmed stamp to take it back.
- Redeem a reward — when a customer's card is full, their phone shows the reward with a 6-character code. They press Redeem at counter and their screen goes full-colour with the code and a 60-second countdown, which you can see across the counter. You can also type the code into this box and press Redeem. A code works once; the panel tells you if it was already used or has expired.
- Add a stamp by hand — for a customer without their phone in hand. Type their number (and a name if you like), pick a location if you have several, and press Add stamp. No cooldown applies to a manual stamp.
- Secure QR — shown only when Secure QR is on under Set up. This QR carries a code that changes every 2 minutes and is the only one that stamps; the printed QR then just opens the card. Keep this screen open at the counter if you use it.
Rewards stay valid for the number of days you set in Set up (the third box under Reward for online shoppers), 60 by default, and then expire.
Online orders
With the stamp rule set to include paid online orders, an order placed with the same phone number adds a stamp to that customer's card. The stamp is added when the payment is confirmed by the gateway, or when a cash-on-delivery order is confirmed. Each order adds at most one stamp. Set a Minimum order for an online stamp under Set up if small orders should not count (0 means any order counts). If the order is later cancelled, the stamp is taken back, along with any reward it unlocked.
When a card fills from an online order, the customer gets a store-branded email with the reward, if the order has an email address. The 6-character reward code also works as a coupon at checkout: under Set up → Reward for online shoppers choose % off or Amount off and the value, or set the value to 0 for a counter-only reward. The customer types the code in the coupon box at checkout, and it is marked redeemed when the order is placed.
Scratch cards
- 1Open Scratch cards in the Loyalty tab and switch Scratch cards on.
- 2Choose when a card appears: A card after every stamp, or A card every N stamps with the number.
- 3Press Add a prize for each prize (up to 12). For each one set the title (*Free dessert*), the odds %, the valid days, and whether it is Counter only or also an online coupon (% off online or Amount off) with its value.
- 4Check the line under the list: the odds must total 100% or less; whatever is left is *no prize*. The Save button stays off while the total is over 100%.
After a stamp the customer scratches the card on their phone. A prize is saved under their rewards with its own code and expiry, and appears in the Winners list on this panel; a blank shows *No prize this time — better luck next visit!* A prize that was set up as an online coupon works at checkout like the card reward.
Locations
One shop does not need locations; the QR kit works as it is. When you open a second branch, go to Locations, type a Location name (and an address if you like) and press Add location (up to 20 per store). Each location gets its own QR, with Download QR code and Print buttons for its own stand card and tent. A stamp from a branch QR is recorded against that branch and shows with the branch name in the Today activity; the manual-stamp and redeem boxes let you pick the branch too. Every customer keeps one card across all branches.
Members
- Members lists every customer with their name and number, the card (*3/8*, with the total stamps ever), visits, rewards redeemed against rewards unlocked, and the last stamp.
- Search phone or name to find someone.
- WhatsApp on a row opens a chat with that customer from your own WhatsApp, for a nudge (*You are at 6 of 8*) or a thank-you.
- Block stops a number collecting stamps; Unblock reverses it. Use it for a number that is clearly farming stamps.
- Export CSV downloads the whole list. Do it once a month and keep it; it is your customer list.
The numbers at the top of the Loyalty tab (members and how many came back, stamps this week against last week, rewards unlocked and redeemed, stamps waiting for confirmation) are the ones to watch. A second stamp is the first sign the programme is working.
Show it in your menu
The rewards page is not in your store's menu by default. To add it, open Settings → Navigation & menu, press Add menu link, choose Rewards (stamp card) as the destination and give it a label such as *Rewards*, then Save. A customer who opens it from the menu can look up their card with their number and collect a stamp with the I'm here button, subject to the cooldown; the QR at the counter stamps straight away.
What stops someone scanning the QR five times?
The cooldown: one stamp per phone number and per device within the period you set (four hours by default). Every scan is also rate-limited. For more control, switch on Staff confirms each scan so every stamp waits for a tap on the Today panel, or Secure QR so only the code on your dashboard screen stamps. Any stamp can be undone and any number can be blocked from Members.
Can I switch loyalty off without losing the members?
Yes. Switch Programme on off and the rewards page disappears from your store, but the members, stamps and rewards are kept. Switch it back on and everyone's card is where they left it.
Does the reward code work online?
Yes, if you give it a value. Under Set up → Reward for online shoppers choose % off or an amount off. The customer types the 6-character code in the coupon box at checkout. Set the value to 0 to make it a counter-only reward. Scratch-card prizes can be set up as online coupons the same way.
Why does the rewards page show not found?
Either the programme is switched off (turn on Programme on in the Loyalty tab) or the store is not on a plan that includes loyalty. The page only exists while the programme is live.
