Publish & share your site

Go live in one click on a free sitesplaced.com address, then share the link anywhere.

Last updated 23 August 2026

When your site looks right, it's one click to go live — no waiting, no hosting setup. Click Publish in the editor (websites) or in the Store Dashboard header (stores) and your site is live at yourname.sitesplaced.site. Publishing is free for every kind of site, and you can re-publish as often as you like without the link changing.

Publish

  1. 1Open the site you want to publish from your Dashboard.
  2. 2Click Publish (top of the editor).
  3. 3Your site goes live instantly at yourname.sitesplaced.site.

Publishing a website

In the site editor, the header shows Save and Publish. Save stores your edits; Publish saves and pushes them live in one go. A success window says Share it with the world with your link under Your link — share it anywhere, a copy button, and LinkedIn, Instagram and WhatsApp share shortcuts. A website made from a template is already live from the moment it is created, so Publish is how you push each round of edits out.

Publishing a store

A new store starts as a Draft — only you can open it. Add at least one product, then click Publish in the Store Dashboard header (on a phone, the Publish store bar at the bottom). The pill switches from Draft to Live and a Your store is live! window shows your link with a copy button, WhatsApp and Instagram share buttons, and a downloadable QR code for packaging or your counter. Changes you make afterwards in Products, Design or Settings go live on save; you do not need to publish again.

Free sites publish with a small SitesPlaced badge. Want a custom domain or your branding removed? See custom domains and the pricing page.

Share your link

Copy your live link and put it wherever your audience is — your WhatsApp status and chats, your Instagram bio, a story, or a printed card. Customers just tap it; there's nothing for them to install.

  • Instagram bio — paste the link in the website field of your profile. Use the Instagram button in the publish window: it copies the link and opens Instagram for you.
  • WhatsApp — the WhatsApp button opens a pre-written message with your link. Pin it in your status and broadcast lists. The WhatsApp link generator makes a click-to-chat link for the other direction.
  • Offline — download the QR code from the store publish window or the Home tab and print it on packaging, bills or a counter card.
  • Google — the address yourname.sitesplaced.com is the one search engines index. Set your Name shown on Google under Settings → SEO & sharing; see store SEO.

Make changes anytime

Edit whenever you like and hit Publish again to push the update live. Your link stays the same, so anything you've already shared keeps working.

Unpublish or take a break

Stores: click Unpublish in the Store Dashboard header and confirm Take your store offline?. The store returns to Draft; customers see nothing until you publish again, and your products and orders are untouched. Websites are taken offline by deleting the site from the Dashboard, or by hiding sections you don't want shown — there is no separate unpublish toggle in the editor.

Want your own domain?

You can connect your own address (like yourbrand.com) instead of the sitesplaced.site one. Learn how in custom domains, and check what's included on the pricing page. Once a domain is verified, your Dashboard card and publish window show the custom domain as your main link, and the sitesplaced.site address keeps working as a preview.

Troubleshooting

  • I published but see the old version. Live pages are cached for about a minute. Wait 60 seconds and refresh, or open the link in a private window.
  • Link shows "not found". Check the site is Published on the Dashboard (stores show Live in the header). If you changed the slug, the old link stops working — share the new one.
  • Publish asks me to upgrade. Only wedding and event invites need a one-time unlock. Every other site type publishes free; if you see an upgrade prompt on a regular site, refresh and try again, then contact support.
  • Badge on my site. The small SitesPlaced badge is part of the free plan. Starter and Growth remove it on any website or store, and the ₹99 Student unlock removes it on a student portfolio — see what's included.
  • Customers can't check out. Publishing and payments are separate. Turn on COD, WhatsApp or Razorpay under Settings → Checkout and Payments & invoices; see checkout options and payments setup.
Is publishing really free?

Yes. Every site publishes free on a yourname.sitesplaced.site address with a small badge. You only pay for extras like a custom domain or removing branding — see the pricing page.

Can I unpublish my site?

Stores, yes — click Unpublish in the Store Dashboard header and confirm; publish again whenever you like. Websites have no unpublish toggle; delete the site from the Dashboard if you need it gone.

Will my link change if I edit the site?

No. Editing and re-publishing keeps the same link, so anything you've shared on WhatsApp or Instagram keeps working. Only changing the slug changes the link.

Is yourname.sitesplaced.com the same as yourname.sitesplaced.site?

Yes, both open the same site. The .site link is what your Dashboard shows and the one to share; the .com address is what search engines index. A custom domain replaces both as your main address.

How do I get a QR code for my store?

Publish the store, then download the QR from the success window or from the Home tab of the Store Dashboard. It points to your live link, or to your custom domain once one is connected.
