Collect product reviews from your customers

Let buyers rate and review the exact products they ordered, approve each review in the Reviews tab, and show them on the product page with the star rating in Google.

Product reviews let a customer who bought something from you rate it out of five and write a few lines about it. Every review lands in your Reviews tab first; nothing shows on the storefront until you press Approve. Once approved, the review appears in a Customer reviews block on that product's page, the average rating shows under the product title, and the rating is added to the product's Google listing so the page can earn a star snippet in search results.

Free, and off by default

Reviews are included on every plan. They are switched off until you turn them on, so nothing changes on your store until you decide.

Turn reviews on

  1. 1Open your store dashboard and go to the Reviews tab.
  2. 2Press Turn on reviews. (The same switch lives under Settings → Sales boosters → Product reviews if you prefer to change it with your other settings.)
  3. 3Press Options to choose whether buyers get a review email when delivered, whether verified reviews publish automatically, whether anyone can review from the product page, and the heading shown above the reviews.

How a customer leaves a review

A review is tied to a real order, which is what makes the Verified purchase badge honest. There are three ways a buyer gets to the form, and all three end up at the same Write a review page on your store:

  • The review email. When an order is marked Delivered — by you in the Orders tab, or by Shiprocket, Shipmozo or Rehbar Post — the buyer gets a *How was your order?* email with a Rate it button for each product. It is sent once per order, and only if the order has an email address.
  • A link you send yourself. Open any shipped or delivered order and press Copy review link, then paste it into WhatsApp. This is the way to go for orders placed without an email. Email it sends the same email again on demand.
  • Track Order or their account. A customer who opens Track Order (or their account page, if you have customer accounts on) sees a Write a review link next to each item once the order has shipped. Without a link from you, the page asks them to confirm the email or phone number used on the order before showing the form.

The form asks for a star rating, a name, an optional title and the review itself. On the storefront the name is shortened to a first name and last initial (*Priya S.*), and the email address is never shown.

Approving, rejecting and replying

New reviews wait under Pending in the Reviews tab with the product, the stars, the review text, the customer's name and email, and a link to the order. Approve publishes it on the product page; Reject hides it (you can move it back to pending later); the bin deletes it for good. Tick several pending reviews to approve or reject them together.

Reply adds a public note from the store under the review — a thank-you, or how you fixed a problem. Customers reading the page see the reply with a *Reply from the store* label. Editing a reply replaces it; saving an empty reply removes it.

Reply to the bad ones too

A calm, specific reply under a 2-star review ("Sorry the parcel was late — we've moved to a faster courier for Pune") does more for trust than ten 5-star reviews with no reply. Shoppers read the replies.

Options explained

  • Email buyers for a review when delivered — on by default. Turn it off if you would rather ask on WhatsApp yourself using Copy review link.
  • Publish verified reviews automatically — off by default. On, a review from a real order goes live immediately without waiting for you. Reviews from anyone else still wait.
  • Let anyone write a review from the product page — off by default. On, a Write a review button on the product page opens the form for any visitor; those reviews carry no *Verified purchase* badge and always wait for approval.
  • Heading on product pages — the title above the reviews block, *Customer reviews* unless you change it.

Where reviews show

Approved reviews appear in a block at the bottom of the product page with the average, a star breakdown you can filter by, and the newest reviews first with a Load more button. Under the product title a small line shows the average and the number of reviews, and links down to the block. Both follow your storefront's colours automatically.

The product's Google listing (the structured data every product page already carries) gains an aggregateRating with the same numbers, plus the latest reviews. That is what makes Google eligible to show stars under your product in search results. It can take days to weeks for Google to pick up.

Already have reviews elsewhere?

If you collected reviews with Judge.me on Shopify, WooCommerce or another platform, you can bring them across in a few minutes — see Import your Judge.me reviews. Imported reviews land in the same Reviews tab, matched to your products by name, keeping their original dates and verified status.

Can a customer review a product they didn't buy?

Only if you turn on Let anyone write a review from the product page. Otherwise the form is reached through the order — the review link, their account, or the order ID plus the email or phone used at checkout — and each order can review each product once.

The customer paid cash on delivery and gave only a phone number. Can they still review?

Yes. Open the order, press Copy review link and send it on WhatsApp. The link opens the form directly. Or they can go to Track Order, enter the order ID, and confirm their phone number.

Do reviews show on the free plan?

Yes. Collecting, approving and showing reviews is included on every plan, with no limit on the number of reviews.

I approved a review but the product page still doesn't show it.

Product pages are cached for speed. Approving a review refreshes that product's page right away on your SitesPlaced address; on a custom domain it can take up to five minutes to update. If it still doesn't appear, check that reviews are switched on in the Reviews tab.

Can I edit what a customer wrote?

No — a review is the customer's words. You can approve, reject, delete, reply to it, or move it to a different product if it was filed against the wrong one.
