How to import your Instagram or existing store
Turn an Instagram profile, a website/Shopify store, or a product PDF into a ready-made store — then the checklist to review before you publish.

If you already sell somewhere, you don't have to start from scratch. The Importer builds a store for you — template, colours, copy and products — from your existing presence. You then review and tidy before going live.
Step 1 — Run the importer
- 1Go to sitesplaced.com/import.
- 2Choose your source: Instagram (enter your
@handle), Website / Shopify (enter your store URL likeyourstore.com), or PDF / Doc (upload a catalog or price list). - 3Let it build — it pulls in products, photos, and your branding, and picks a fitting template.
It's a starting point, not the finish line
Imported data is auto-detected, so expect to fix a few prices, photos or names. That's normal — the importer saves you the heavy lifting of typing everything in.
Step 2 — Review your products
- Open Products and check each item's name, price and photos.
- Set up options if you sell sizes/colours — see How to sell sizes & colours.
- Tidy your categories under Settings → Categories (the importer may create rough ones).
- Decide your stock approach in Catalog & fields.
Step 3 — Finish the setup
- Set how you get paid.
- Check your menu & navigation and branding.
- Run the go-live checklist and Publish.
Editor looks emptier than the live preview?
If a section's editor looks blank while the live page shows content, just open and re-save that section — it backfills from your imported content. Still odd after that? Contact support.
