Cash on delivery, with a COD charge you control.

Turn COD on with one checkbox, add an optional surcharge that only COD orders pay, and push COD orders to your courier as COD. Included on the free plan.

By Manan Agrawal, Founder · Updated August 23, 2026

Cash on delivery is a checkbox on every SitesPlaced store (Settings → Checkout → Order methods → Show Cash on Delivery). You can add an extra COD charge that is shown next to the COD option and added only to COD orders — online and WhatsApp orders are never charged it. COD orders are pushed to Shiprocket or Shipmozo as COD with the charge included. Free plan, 0% commission.

What Cash on delivery does on a SitesPlaced store

One checkbox to offer COD

Show Cash on Delivery is on by default in Order methods. Untick it for a prepaid-only store, or keep it next to Razorpay, UPI transfer and WhatsApp checkout.

An optional COD charge

Set an extra amount (for example ₹50) that is added to the order total when a customer picks COD. It is shown at checkout before they confirm, and recorded on the order as a separate COD fee.

Courier-ready COD orders

When Shiprocket or Shipmozo is connected, a COD order is pushed with payment method COD and the amount to collect from the customer.

Confirmation on WhatsApp

With the WhatsApp Business API integration on, the customer's confirmation message shows “Payment: Cash on delivery” from your own number.

Which plan, and what it costs

  • SitesPlaced: Free plan — ₹0 to publish, 0% SitesPlaced commission.
  • Third-party fees: None from SitesPlaced. Your courier's COD collection fee, if any, is between you and the courier.

Full plan details are on the pricing page. Plan tags on every SitesPlaced page mirror the real entitlement gate in the product, as of August 23, 2026.

How to set up Cash on delivery

Where: Dashboard → your store → Settings → Checkout → Order methods. Takes: under a minute.

  1. Open Order methods

In your store's Settings open Checkout. The first card is Order methods.

  2. Tick Show Cash on Delivery

It is on by default. Leave it ticked to offer COD; untick it for a prepaid-only store.

  3. Set the COD charge (optional)

In the Extra COD charge field enter the surcharge in your store currency, or leave 0 for no surcharge. Save — it shows next to the COD option at checkout immediately.

  4. Ship it as COD

Open the order from the Orders tab. If Shiprocket or Shipmozo is connected, the push uses COD as the payment method with the amount to collect.

Good to know

  • Mark a COD order as paid from the Orders tab once the courier remits the cash.
  • The COD charge is stored on the order as its own field, separate from the product total and delivery charge.
  • Pair COD with a minimum order value (Settings → Checkout → Minimum order) to avoid tiny COD shipments.

Other payments integrations
