PayPal at your checkout, paid to your own account.
The second button most shoppers look for — and for some buyers, the only one they trust. 0% SitesPlaced commission, on the free plan.

PayPal is built into every SitesPlaced store on the free plan. You create an app in your own PayPal developer dashboard and paste its Client ID and Secret. Customers approve the payment on PayPal and come straight back to your store, where the order is completed. Money goes to your PayPal balance; SitesPlaced charges 0% commission.

What PayPal does on a SitesPlaced store
The button buyers already trust
Customers pay with their PayPal balance, a linked bank account or a card — in most countries without needing a PayPal account at all.
Straight to your PayPal balance
Payments settle into the PayPal account you connect. SitesPlaced is never in the money flow and takes no cut on any plan.
Sandbox mode for testing
Connect with PayPal's sandbox credentials first and run a fake order end to end. Switch to live credentials when you're ready to sell.
Sits next to your other methods
PayPal appears alongside Stripe, Razorpay, cash on delivery and WhatsApp checkout. Customers pick whichever they prefer.
Which plan, and what it costs
- ✓SitesPlaced: Free plan — ₹0 to publish, 0% SitesPlaced commission.
- ✓Third-party fees: PayPal charges its own per-transaction fee, which varies by country and whether the payment is domestic or cross-border. Check PayPal's fee page for current rates.
Full plan details are on the pricing page. Plan tags on every SitesPlaced page mirror the real entitlement gate in the product, as of August 26, 2026.
How to set up PayPal
Where: Dashboard → your store → Settings → Payments & invoices → PayPal. Takes: about 5 minutes (with an existing PayPal account).
Create an app in PayPal
Sign in at developer.paypal.com with the PayPal account that should receive the money, open Apps & Credentials, choose the Live tab and create an app.
Copy the Client ID and Secret
Both are on the app's page — the Secret is behind a Show link.
Paste them into your store
In your SitesPlaced dashboard open Settings → Payments & invoices, paste both into the PayPal card, leave Mode on Live and connect. We verify them with PayPal before saving.
Place a test order
Buy something on your live store and pay with PayPal. The order appears in the Orders tab marked paid once the payment completes.
Good to know
- ✓Live and sandbox credentials are not interchangeable. Connecting sandbox credentials in Live mode fails on purpose — the alternative is orders that look paid but never settle.
- ✓PayPal only moves the money when the customer returns to your store after approving. If they close the tab on PayPal's page, nothing is charged and no order is completed.
- ✓PayPal works differently for Indian merchants and is mainly for receiving payments from abroad. An existing PayPal business account can still be connected.
- ✓Refunds are issued in your PayPal account. The order status in SitesPlaced doesn't change automatically for PayPal refunds — update it by hand so your records match.

Frequently asked questions
Is PayPal free on SitesPlaced?
Yes. The integration is on the free plan and SitesPlaced charges 0% commission. PayPal's own transaction fee still applies.
Should I use PayPal or Stripe?
Both, if you sell overseas. They cost nothing to have connected and different customers prefer different buttons. Stripe covers cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay; PayPal covers people who keep a PayPal balance or would rather not type card details into a shop they don't know yet.
Is my PayPal secret safe?
It is encrypted before storage and never appears in your website's pages. You can regenerate or delete the app's secret inside PayPal at any time, which stops it working immediately.
Do customers need a PayPal account?
In most countries, no — PayPal's page lets them pay by card as a guest.
