SitesPlaced ("we", "us", "our") operates the platform available at sitesplaced.com and any related subdomains or services (collectively, the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you access or use the Platform.
By accessing or using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and any profile information you choose to provide through our authentication provider (Clerk).
- Website Content: Text, images, videos, product listings, and other content you upload or create on the Platform ("User Content").
- Payment & Billing: We use third-party payment processors. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.
- Communications: If you contact us for support, we retain those communications.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent, referring URLs, and interaction events.
- Device & Log Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and crash logs.
- Cookies & Similar Technologies: We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication session management, preferences, and analytics. You may disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not function correctly.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Authentication Providers: When you sign in via Google, GitHub, or other OAuth providers through Clerk, we receive your email address and profile information as permitted by that provider.
- Analytics: We may use third-party analytics services (e.g., Vercel Analytics) that collect anonymised usage data.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Platform and its features.
- Create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, and enforce security.
- Process transactions and send related notices (receipts, billing alerts).
- Respond to your support requests and communications.
- Send product updates, marketing communications, and promotional offers (you may opt out at any time).
- Monitor usage patterns to detect abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
- Carry out any other purpose described at the time of collection.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We share data with vendors who assist us in operating the Platform (e.g., Supabase for database hosting, Clerk for authentication, Vercel for deployment, Google Gemini for AI features). These providers are contractually bound to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
- Business Transfers: If we merge, acquire, or sell all or part of our business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before such a transfer takes effect.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Consent: We may share your information with third parties when you explicitly authorise us to do so.
4. User-Generated Content and Published Websites
The Platform allows you to build and publish websites visible to the public ("Published Sites"). You are solely responsible for all content you publish. SitesPlaced is merely a hosting intermediary and does not pre-screen User Content.
Visitors to your Published Sites may interact with you directly. Any personal data those visitors submit through your site (e.g., contact forms, ecommerce checkouts) is collected and processed by you, not by SitesPlaced. You are independently responsible for complying with all applicable privacy laws with respect to your own visitors' data.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform services. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Plan & Billing settings page. Upon account deletion, all personal data, websites, products, orders, uploaded assets, and referral records are permanently removed immediately.
Where required by law, or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention or resolving disputes, certain records may be retained for up to 90 days after deletion.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and accept no liability for unauthorised access beyond what is required by applicable law.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access & Portability: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: You may update your account information directly in your profile settings or by contacting us.
- Deletion: You may permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Plan & Billing settings page. This is a self-service action that immediately removes your Clerk authentication account, all published websites and stores, products, orders, leads, uploaded files, subscription records, and referral data. Alternatively, you may request deletion by emailing privacy@sitesplaced.com.
- Opt-Out of Marketing: Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us directly.
- Cookie Preferences: Manage cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect Platform functionality.
- Residents of the EEA / UK / California: You may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA (including the right to object to processing, restrict processing, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority). Contact us to exercise these rights.
8. International Data Transfers
SitesPlaced is operated from India. If you access the Platform from outside India, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in India or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Platform, you consent to such transfers. We take steps to ensure adequate data protection safeguards are in place for cross-border transfers.
9. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child without verified parental consent, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we hold data about a child, contact us at privacy@sitesplaced.com.
10. Third-Party Links
The Platform and Published Sites may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, by sending you a notification. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
