Custom head code is on the ₹199/month Starter plan (and every paid plan above it). Under Settings → Tracking & code you paste a Header code snippet (injected into the <head> of every store page) and optionally a Body end code snippet (before </body>). The code runs on your live store only — never in the editor — and free-plan stores never emit it. For Meta specifically, use the native Meta Pixel + Conversions API card on the same page instead of pasting the base code.

What Custom head code does on a SitesPlaced store
Header code on every page
Paste the full snippet including its <script> tags. It is injected into the <head> of every page of your store: home, product, category, cart, checkout, Track Order.
Body-end code when a tool asks
A second field for snippets that must sit before </body>, such as a <noscript> fallback or certain chat widgets.
Live store only
The code runs on your published origin — your sitesplaced.site link or custom domain — and not in the dashboard editor, so your own edits never show up as traffic.

How to set up Custom head code
Where: Dashboard → your store → Settings → Tracking & code → Header code. Takes: about 2 minutes.
Copy the snippet from your tool
For Google Analytics 4: Admin → Data streams → your web stream → View tag instructions → Install manually, copy the whole snippet. For Clarity or PostHog, copy the tracking code from their setup page.
Paste it under Header code
Settings → Tracking & code → Header code. Paste the full snippet including the <script> tags and save.
Use Body end code only if asked
If a tool specifically gives you a <noscript> or body snippet, paste it under Body end code.
Check on the live store
Open your published store and use the tool's real-time view (GA4 Realtime, Clarity recordings) to confirm hits are arriving.
Good to know
- ✓Snippets are stored as you paste them (capped at 20,000 characters per field) and are not rewritten, so they behave exactly as the vendor intends.
- ✓For Meta, prefer the native Meta Pixel + Conversions API card: it deduplicates browser and server events, which pasted code alone cannot do.
- ✓SitesPlaced's own store analytics (visits, top products) is separate and lives in the Analytics tab.

Frequently asked questions
Can I add Google Analytics on the free plan?
No. Custom head code is on the ₹199/month Starter plan (and all paid plans above it). Free stores publish without third-party tracking code.
Where does the code run?
On every page of your published store — on your sitesplaced.site link and on a custom domain. It does not run in the editor preview.
Can I verify Google Search Console with it?
Yes. Paste the HTML-tag verification meta tag under Header code, save, and click Verify in Search Console.
Should I paste the Meta Pixel base code here?
Prefer the native Meta Pixel + Conversions API card on the same page: it also sends server-side Purchase events and deduplicates them. Use one or the other — with the native card on, a pasted base code would count PageView twice, and the dashboard warns you.
