Shippo is how a SitesPlaced store ships parcels outside India. You connect your own Shippo account with an API token, save your sender address once, and buy a label from any order. We compare the available rates, buy the cheapest, and save the tracking number and label onto the order — where the customer's Track Order page picks it up automatically. Postage is billed by Shippo to your own account.

How to set up Shippo
Where: Dashboard → your store → Settings → Integrations → Shippo. Takes: about 5 minutes.
Get your Shippo token
Create a free Shippo account, add a payment method, then open Settings → API and copy the Live token. It starts with shippo_live_.
Connect it
In your SitesPlaced dashboard open Settings → Integrations, paste the token into the Shippo card and connect.
Save your sender address
Fill in the address parcels should come back to if they can't be delivered. Every label needs one, and you only enter it once.
Buy a label
Open an order and use the Shippo action. The tracking number and label PDF are saved onto the order.
Good to know
- ✓For Indian parcels use Shiprocket or Shipmozo instead — they're built for Indian couriers and cash on delivery. Shippo covers US, UK, Canada, Australia and the EU.
- ✓If an order has no dimensions we use a sensible default parcel. Check it before handing the parcel over — carriers charge the difference if the real one is heavier.
- ✓A shippo_test_ token produces sample labels no carrier will accept. Useful for a trial run, not for real parcels.
- ✓Orders that contain only digital downloads never reach shipping at all — the files are emailed the moment payment succeeds.
- ✓Choosing a specific carrier rather than the cheapest isn't available yet. Create that label inside Shippo directly for now.

Frequently asked questions
Is Shippo free on SitesPlaced?
The integration is on the free plan. Shippo charges about 5¢ a label plus postage, billed to your own Shippo account — we never bill you for shipping.
Why Shippo rather than the alternatives?
No monthly minimum. Comparable services charge $19 to $75 a month before you've shipped anything, which doesn't work for a seller posting twenty parcels a month.
Does the customer get tracking automatically?
The tracking number is saved onto the order and shown on your store's Track Order page as soon as the label is bought.
It says no shipping options were found.
Usually the delivery address is incomplete, or no enabled carrier serves that country. Check the address on the order and which carriers are switched on in your Shippo account.
