eZee alternatives for small homestays — when eZee is more than you need

eZee is good hotel software. But a four-room homestay in Kasol or a family guesthouse in Alleppey often pays for far more of it than it uses. Here is why owners look elsewhere, what they move to, and when staying on eZee is the right call.

The best eZee alternative for a 1–10 room homestay that mainly takes direct bookings is SitesPlaced: a free website with a booking engine, 0% commission and GST worked out per night. It has no channel manager yet. If you need one to sync several OTAs, Stayflexi — or eZee itself — is the better choice.

TL;DR

  • • eZee’s booking engine alone is listed at ₹2,250 a month before GST for 1–5 rooms (Techjockey, October 2026) — about ₹31,860 a year with GST.
  • • It plugs into a website you already have. Many homestays don’t have one.
  • • Free alternative: SitesPlaced — website and booking engine together, ₹0, 0% commission.
  • • Paid alternative with a channel manager: Stayflexi, from ₹2,500 a month plus GST in India.
  • • Stay on eZee if most of your nights sell on OTAs or you run a reception desk with staff.

What eZee does well

eZee — now sold by Yanolja Cloud Solution, or YCS — has been selling hotel software for years, and it shows. It sells a booking engine (eZee Reservation), a channel manager (software that keeps your rooms and prices in sync on OTAs, the online travel agents such as Booking.com and MakeMyTrip) and a front-desk system, or PMS, for check-ins, rooms and bills. As listed on Techjockey, they come in bundles: booking engine ₹2,250, booking engine plus channel manager ₹5,250, booking engine plus front desk ₹4,500, and all three ₹7,500 a month, each before GST.

For a 30-room hotel with a reception team, selling on four OTAs, that is a sensible way to buy. The question for a homestay is how much of it you would actually use.

Why small homestays look beyond eZee

  • 1. The bill, against the bookings it brings. At ₹2,250 a month plus GST, the booking engine alone is about ₹31,860 a year. All three modules at ₹7,500 a month come to about ₹1,06,200 a year with GST. For a stay with three or four rooms, much of that is paid in the quiet months too.
  • 2. You need a website first. eZee’s booking engine is sold to plug into your existing hotel website. If your “website” today is an Instagram page and a WhatsApp number, you need to build or buy one before the booking engine can do anything.
  • 3. Setup starts with a conversation. eZee’s own pricing page asks for your property type and room count before it quotes, and the listings offer a demo. That is normal for hotel software, but slow if you just want bookings on your site this week.
  • 4. It is built for a reception desk. A front-desk system earns its keep when staff check guests in all day. A family homestay run from one phone needs a calendar, a list of who is arriving, and a bill — not a hotel back office.

The five alternatives

1. SitesPlaced — best for direct bookings, free

The website and the booking engine come together. The Homestay & Stays template shows your rooms with photos, beds and who each sleeps, meals, places nearby, directions with a Google Maps button, and house rules. Guests pick dates on a calendar that shows each night’s price, see the total with GST before they book, and either book instantly or send a request you confirm. Weekend and season prices, minimum nights and closed dates are built in; each room-night can only be sold once; and the dashboard shows today’s arrivals, departures and payments. 0% commission on every plan; ₹199 a month adds your own domain.

Not yet: a channel manager (OTA bookings are added by hand) or online payment at booking (you collect by UPI or bank transfer after confirming). SitesPlaced vs eZee, row by row.

2. Stayflexi — best if you need a channel manager

Its own calculator lists a Basic plan in India at ₹2,500 a month per property for up to 20 rooms, with a booking engine, a channel manager and a basic front desk included, plus 18% GST. The price is published, which makes it easy to compare.

Watch out: no free plan; about ₹35,400 a year with GST, paying monthly. SitesPlaced vs Stayflexi.

3. AxisRooms — best for buying one piece at a time

AxisRooms sells its booking engine and channel manager as separate modules. Its Capterra and GetApp listings (October 2026) show the booking engine from about $30 a month and the channel manager from about $50 a month for 1–10 rooms.

Watch out: we couldn’t load a pricing page on its own site, so confirm those figures with them.

4. Bookingjini — best for a commission-free engine with extras

Bookingjini advertises its booking engine with “zero commission fees”, and also sells a channel manager, a front-desk system and a website builder. Its site offers a 7-day free trial.

Watch out: no prices on the site — you get a number after a demo.

5. Hotelogix — best for a bigger hotel

A cloud front desk with a booking engine, a channel manager and a phone app on both Android and iPhone. Listings show from about $3.99 per room per month with minimum billing, plus a one-time sign-up fee; its own pricing page asks you to contact sales.

Watch out: built for hotels with staff, and the minimum bill hits small properties hardest. SitesPlaced vs Hotelogix.

What about Djubo? It bundles a booking engine and channel manager on every plan, but its pricing page says plans start at 10 rooms and are billed quarterly or yearly, so it rarely suits a homestay. See SitesPlaced vs Djubo, or the full ranking of hotel booking engines in India.

When you should stay with eZee

Stay if most of your nights sell on Booking.com, MakeMyTrip, Agoda or Airbnb at the same time — a channel manager is what stops two guests booking the same room, and SitesPlaced doesn’t have one yet. Stay, too, if you run a reception desk with staff who live in the front-desk system all day. In both cases eZee is doing a job that a free website can’t.

Moving from eZee to SitesPlaced

  1. 1. Start free with the Homestay & Stays template. Nothing goes live until you publish.
  2. 2. Add rooms and prices: photos, beds, who each room sleeps, weekday and weekend prices, seasons, minimum nights, closed dates, and GST if you’re registered — 5% per room-night up to ₹7,500, 18% above.
  3. 3. Copy in your future bookings by hand, so those nights are already closed on your new calendar.
  4. 4. Choose how it works: confirm each request yourself or instantly; guests pay at the property, a deposit first, or in full first.
  5. 5. Switch your links: paste your booking link into your Google Business Profile (any business can add one, free), your Instagram bio and WhatsApp. Keep eZee until your current billing period ends.

The short answer

If your homestay has 1–10 rooms and most guests find you on Google, Instagram, WhatsApp or by word of mouth, you don’t need to pay for hotel software to take direct bookings. SitesPlaced gives you the website and the booking engine for ₹0, with 0% commission and GST worked out on every bill. Choose eZee or Stayflexi only when OTAs bring most of your nights. For everyone else, start with SitesPlaced.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best eZee alternative for a small homestay?

For a homestay of 1–10 rooms that mainly takes direct bookings, SitesPlaced: a free website with a booking engine, 0% commission, no minimum rooms and GST worked out per night. If you need a channel manager to sync several OTAs automatically, Stayflexi includes one from its ₹2,500-a-month Basic plan in India (October 2026).

How much does eZee cost for a 5-room homestay?

As listed on Techjockey in October 2026, eZee Reservation (the booking engine alone) is ₹2,250 a month before GST for 1–5 rooms — ₹31,860 a year with GST. With a channel manager it is ₹5,250 a month, and with the front-desk system as well ₹7,500, each before GST. eZee’s own site asks for your property type and room count before quoting.

Is there a free alternative to eZee?

Yes. SitesPlaced publishes a website with a booking engine on its free plan, with unlimited bookings and 0% commission; you pay ₹199 a month only if you want your own domain. It has no channel manager yet, so OTA bookings are added by hand.

Which is better — eZee or SitesPlaced?

For a small homestay selling mostly direct, SitesPlaced: the website and booking engine are free, with 0% commission and the total with GST shown before the guest books. eZee is the better pick for a hotel that sells most nights on OTAs and needs a channel manager, or runs a reception desk with staff. For 1–10 rooms and direct guests, SitesPlaced costs nothing to run.

Can I keep eZee’s channel manager and use a SitesPlaced website?

You can, but the two don’t talk to each other. A booking taken on your SitesPlaced site would need adding to eZee by hand, and the other way round. Most small homestays pick one calendar — and if OTAs bring most of your guests, that calendar should be the one with the channel manager.

What does eZee do that SitesPlaced doesn’t?

eZee sells a channel manager that syncs your rooms across OTAs, and a full front-desk system (PMS) built for hotels with staff. SitesPlaced has neither yet, and it doesn’t take online payment at the moment of booking — you collect deposits by UPI or bank transfer after confirming.

Your own booking website, free

Rooms, prices, a calendar that never sells a night twice, and the total with GST before the guest books — on the free plan, with 0% commission. ₹199 a month adds your own domain.
