How to Drive More Sales for Your Small Business
You have a product or service people want — but sales could be better. Here are practical, low-cost ways to get more customers and close more orders, whether you sell online, from home, or both.
To drive more sales, make it easy for people to find you (one link, one store or portfolio), order without friction (clear catalogue, WhatsApp or checkout), and pay the way they prefer (UPI, COD, cards). Most small businesses lose sales at "how do I order?" and "how do I pay?" — fix those two and sales often jump without spending on ads.
1. One place to find you and order
If customers have to call, DM, or hunt for a catalogue, many won’t. Give them one link: your online store or a simple website with what you offer and how to order. Share it on Instagram, WhatsApp status, and with every new contact. Tools like SitesPlaced — an online store builder made for small businesses — let you create a store or portfolio in minutes — launch an Instagram store or create a portfolio for services.
2. Reduce steps from "want" to "paid"
Every extra step ("DM for price", "send address separately", "I'll send bank details") loses people. Use a store with cart + WhatsApp checkout or direct checkout. Send PDF invoices with UPI and bank details so they pay in one go. Add Razorpay so they can pay online. Fewer steps = more sales.
3. Use WhatsApp and Instagram consistently
Post regularly so people remember you. In every post or Story, point to your link. Use WhatsApp status to announce new products or offers. When someone messages, reply fast — speed builds trust and closes sales. Keep a simple order management system so you don’t miss or duplicate orders.
4. Ask for referrals and repeat orders
After a successful delivery, ask: "Would you share us with friends?" or offer a small discount on the next order. Repeat customers are cheaper than new ones. Track who bought what (your order dashboard can help) and nudge them when you have something new or restocked.
