Student websites are now free on SitesPlaced
Starting May 2026, any student can build and publisha portfolio website for free — including the premium Tesla, Apple, BMW M, Uber and Meta-style templates. No plan. No credit card. Here's exactly what changed, what's still optional, and why we did it.
Building and publishing a student portfolio website on SitesPlaced is now completely free. Every student template — from the clean CS and Resume layouts to the premium company-grade portfolios — goes live at ₹0 with a real yourname.sitesplaced.comURL, AI-written content from your résumé, a custom domain if you want one, and edge-cached hosting. The only thing left to pay for is a one-time ₹99 (or $3) that removes the small "Made using sitesplaced.com" badge forever — no subscription, no renewal.

Yes — the premium templates are free too
This is the part students keep asking about. The five premium, company-grade student portfolios are included in the free tier. You can publish any of them at ₹0:
- Tesla — Premium Engineering Portfolio — minimal, engineering-led, for robotics / AI / EV builders.
- Apple — Premium Builder Portfolio — editorial tiles, product-design polish.
- BMW M — Premium Motorsport Portfolio — high-contrast, mechanical, for hardware and automotive.
- Uber — Premium Operator Portfolio — clean operator / PM layout.
- Meta — Premium Builder Portfolio — tile-based, for VR / AR / hardware builders.
Until now these were treated as premium. As of May 2026, if you're building a student portfolio, they cost nothing to publish.
Why we made student websites free
A portfolio is the single biggest edge a student has in placement season — and the one thing most students skip, because every other builder is priced in dollars for Western freelancers. Even ₹99 is a real decision when you're a college student.
So we removed the decision. If you're a student, the answer is just "yes, publish it." Building, publishing, AI and a custom domain are all free. We'd rather have thousands of students shipping real portfolios than a handful paying for one. The one-time ₹99 (or $3) is purely for students who want to remove the small SitesPlaced badge — and that's the only thing it's for now.

Frequently asked questions
Is it really free, or a trial?
It's free, not a trial. Publishing a student portfolio costs ₹0 with no time limit and no card on file. You keep your live yourname.sitesplaced.com site for as long as you want.
Do I need to verify I'm a student?
No. There's no student-ID check. The student templates are open to anyone — they're simply built for student use cases like projects, skills, education, and internships.
What does the one-time ₹99 do now?
Just one thing: it removes the small SitesPlaced badge from your live site, forever. Building, publishing, AI and even a custom domain are all free for students — the ₹99 (or $3 internationally) is a single one-time payment with no subscription and is never required to publish.
Are the premium Tesla / Apple / BMW M / Uber / Meta templates free?
Yes. All five premium company-style student portfolios are free to publish. There's no upcharge to use them.
Do I need the ₹199/month Starter plan?
No — that plan is for non-student website and portfolio owners who want a custom domain, no badge and AI. Students get all of that free and only ever pay a one-time ₹99 to remove the badge.
