SitesPlaced now supports Cashfree — two values and you are live

UPI, cards, net banking, wallets and pay-later at your checkout, settled straight into your own Cashfree account. Free plan, 0% commission, no webhook to configure.

Cashfree is now a payment option on every SitesPlaced store. Paste an App ID and a Secret Key from your ownCashfree dashboard, tick one box, and a Pay Online option appears at checkout covering UPI, cards, net banking, wallets and pay-later. Money settles to your account on Cashfree's normal schedule — SitesPlaced is never in the payment and takes no cut.

The fastest of the three to connect

Cashfree needs two values, and that is genuinely it. Razorpay is a one-click sign-in; PhonePe is three values plus a webhook you configure by hand. Cashfree sits in between and takes about five minutes end to end.

The reason there is no webhook step is that Cashfree accepts a notification address on each individual payment, so the store sends its own with every order. You can still register one in your Cashfree dashboard if you want a second safety net — but you do not have to, and nothing is broken if you never do.

Cashfree also signs the notifications it sends, which means the store can verify a payment message really came from Cashfree before acting on it. That is a meaningfully better security position than gateways that authenticate only with a shared password, and it is why this one needed no extra credential from you.

Which of these appear is controlled in your own Cashfree dashboard, not in your store settings. Turn one on there and it shows up at your checkout with nothing to change here.

How the order gets confirmed

When the customer comes back from Cashfree, the store does nottake the return page's word for it. It reads the order back from Cashfree, checks the amount matches, and only then marks the order paid, deducts stock, sends your order email and releases any digital downloads.

If the customer pays and closes the tab before the redirect, Cashfree's signed notification confirms the order instead — and the store runs the same check before acting on it. Whichever arrives first wins; the other is a no-op. You get your order either way.

Why a third Indian gateway

Same reason as PhonePe: gateway onboarding declines a real share of genuine small sellers — no GST registration, a proprietorship on a personal current account, a category someone's risk team dislikes — and they do not all decline the same people. Three options means "my application was rejected" stops being the end of taking online payments.

And because you can connect more than one at a time, a gateway having a bad afternoon no longer means a day of lost orders. That is not something you can arrange after the outage starts.

What connecting actually involves

In your Cashfree dashboard, open Developers → API Keys and switch the environment to Production.
Copy the App ID and reveal and copy the Secret Key.
In your store, open Settings → Payments & invoices and paste both into the Cashfree card. They are tested against your real account before anything is saved.
Tick 'Customers can pay with Cashfree'. The option is now live at your checkout.

One thing to check first: if your Cashfree key has an IP allowlist on it, remove it. A hosted store does not have a fixed IP address, so an allowlisted key can never work — and it fails with an error that looks exactly like a bad key, which is a frustrating hour to spend.

Cashfree charges its own per-transaction fee, which varies by payment method and by the rates on your account. That goes to Cashfree, not to us, and we add nothing on top of it.
