What Shop2Host’s free plan actually includes

Shop2Host deserves credit for offering a real free tier. There is no trial clock on it and no card to enter. As listed on their pricing page in August 2026 (plans change, so confirm before you buy), the Free Forever plan gives you a Shop2Host subdomain, cash on delivery, a built-in UPI option they call S2H Pay, basic inventory, and a hard limit of 10 products.

Everything a growing store reaches for next sits on Pro, priced at ₹690/month or ₹586/month when billed annually: unlimited products, Razorpay, Shiprocket, WhatsApp order alerts, coupons, Google Analytics and Meta Pixel. A custom domain is a separate add-on on top of Pro. There is also a Plus tier at ₹1,490/month marked as coming soon. Shop2Host also publishes individual integration pages for Razorpay, Shiprocket, WhatsApp, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and custom domains, and lists a phone support number in its header, which is rarer than it should be among Indian store builders.

Ten products is enough to test the platform. It is not enough for a saree seller with 40 designs, a home bakery with a festive menu, or anyone who wants to import a full Instagram catalogue. The cap is where the free plan ends and the ₹690 decision begins, and it is the main reason people search for a Shop2Host alternative.

Annualised, the gap is easy to see. Shop2Host Pro on the annual rate is ₹586 × 12, or ₹7,032 a year, before the custom domain add-on. SitesPlaced’s Ecommerce plan at the early-bird rate is ₹499 × 12, or ₹5,988 a year, with the domain included, and the free plan is ₹0 a year with the same unlimited catalogue. For a seller whose only problem is the 10-product wall, the cheapest fix is not the ₹690 upgrade.

Pro at ₹690/month versus ₹0 and ₹499

The useful way to read Shop2Host’s pricing is to ask what each rupee unlocks. Pro’s headline items are unlimited products, Razorpay and UPI, Shiprocket, WhatsApp alerts and coupons. On SitesPlaced, four of those five are in the free plan. Unlimited products and orders, Razorpay with UPI, cards, net banking and wallets, Shiprocket and Shipmozo with AWB generation and a live Track Order page, and coupons including Buy-X-Get-Y offers all cost nothing. You also get PDF invoices, product badges, variants, inventory, newsletter capture, Standard and Express delivery options with your own order ID prefix, and all 17 storefront themes with every section and style variant. The free plan carries a small “Made using SitesPlaced” badge, 500 MB of storage and up to 5 sites.

The fifth item, WhatsApp order alerts, is where the two products diverge rather than overlap. SitesPlaced puts it on the Ecommerce plan at ₹499/month early-bird (₹999/month after the first 30 stores), which is still ₹191 less than Shop2Host Pro. That plan also includes a custom domain with one-click DNS for Indian registrars rather than charging for it as an add-on, removes the badge, adds AI copy for product and section text, store analytics, custom head code for GA4, Clarity or any tag, and two integrations Shop2Host does not list at any price: Meta Conversions API and the WhatsApp Business API.

So the honest summary is: if you only need what Pro offers, SitesPlaced gives you most of it free. If you need what Pro offers plus a domain and ad tracking that actually survives iOS privacy changes, SitesPlaced’s ₹499 plan is cheaper than Pro and includes more.

Pixel versus Conversions API, and alerts from your own number

Two rows in the table need a sentence of explanation because the names sound similar and the difference matters once you spend money on Instagram ads.

Shop2Host Pro lists Meta Pixel. A pixel is a browser script. It fires when the thank-you page loads, which means it is blocked by ad blockers, dropped when a customer closes the tab early, and weakened by iOS tracking limits. SitesPlaced ships the Pixel and the Conversions API together. The Purchase event is sent from our server, once per paid order, deduplicated against the browser event, using your own Meta credentials. Meta sees more of your real conversions, and your ad optimisation is based on sales that happened rather than page loads that finished. On WhatsApp, SitesPlaced sends the owner alert and the customer’s order confirmation from your own WhatsApp Business number through Meta’s Cloud API, with credentials you own. Customers see a message from your brand, not from a platform number, and replies land in your inbox. The setup is documented in this WhatsApp Business API walkthrough. Shop2Host lists WhatsApp order alerts on Pro; their pricing page does not say how those are sent, so we will not guess.

Who should stay on Shop2Host

• You sell fewer than 10 products and expect to keep it that way. A small COD-and-UPI store with a handful of items fits inside their free plan, and moving a working store has a cost in attention even when the tooling is easy.
• You want to pick up the phone. Shop2Host lists a support phone number in its header. SitesPlaced supports sellers over a WhatsApp line and through the dashboard’s help centre. If voice support is your deciding factor, that is a fair reason to stay.
• You are already on Pro with a custom domain, Razorpay and Shiprocket configured. You could save ₹191 a month by moving, and gain CAPI and WhatsApp Business API, but if the store is working and ads are not part of your plan, the saving may not be worth the afternoon.

How to move from Shop2Host to SitesPlaced

1. Create a free account. No card, no UPI mandate, no trial expiry.
2. Import your catalogue. Open the store importer and paste your existing store URL, your Instagram handle, or a PDF price list. It rebuilds products, prices, images, variants and categories. If your Shop2Host store has fewer products than your Instagram feed, import from Instagram and get the full catalogue in one go.
3. Pick a theme. All 17 are free, from jewellery and fashion layouts to the Pronto grocery theme and the Maison luxury theme. Every heading, image, menu and footer column is editable. You can also ask ChatGPT or Claude to make changes through our MCP server.
4. Connect payments and shipping. Add your Razorpay keys, turn on COD with an optional charge, and connect Shiprocket or Shipmozo. Orders get an AWB and customers get a tracking page.
5. Publish free, then switch the bio link. Your Shop2Host store keeps running while you test. When you are ready, point your Instagram bio at the new store. Upgrade to ₹499/month only when you want your own domain, Meta CAPI or WhatsApp Business API.
