Shopexer review (2026): what you get free, and what you don’t.
Shopexer is a free, mobile-first store builder aimed at Indian Instagram sellers. The free forever plan covers unlimited products, a subdomain, UPI, card and wallet payments, WhatsApp order updates and integrated shipping, with zero commission on its shipping plan. It has an Android and iOS app. What it does not offer, as far as its public pages show, is a custom domain, multiple storefront designs, Meta Conversions API or automated WhatsApp Business API messages from your own number. This review covers what we found, who it fits, and where SitesPlaced goes further.
A note on how we reviewed it
We build a competing product, so read this with that in mind. To keep it fair, everything below about Shopexer comes from its own public pages as they appeared in August 2026: the homepage, the sitemap and the pricing URL. We have not invented ratings, user counts or quotes, and we do not claim anything about reliability or support that we could not see. Plans change, so confirm details with Shopexer before you commit.
What Shopexer offers
The pitch is straightforward: a free online store for people who currently sell through Instagram DMs. The homepage lists a free forever plan at ₹0/month, zero commission (specifically “on the Shopexer shipping plan”), and no hidden fees. Each store gets a custom subdomain under Shopexer’s domain, unlimited products, inventory management, and checkout through UPI, cards and wallets. Customers receive WhatsApp order updates and can track orders, and shipping is integrated into the platform rather than handled outside it.
The product is mobile-first. There is an app on Google Play and the App Store, and the expectation is that you run the store from your phone, which matches how most Instagram sellers already work. Having an iOS app is a genuine plus; many Indian store builders, SitesPlaced included, are Android-only on mobile today.
Shopexer’s sitemap listed roughly 35 live stores when we looked, most of them jewellery and fashion sellers who clearly came from Instagram. That is a small footprint, but the stores themselves look like real businesses rather than test accounts, which tells you who the product is built for.
Shopexer pricing: what we could and could not find
This is the part of the review where we have to be careful. When we opened Shopexer’s pricing page in August 2026 it returned a 404. The homepage showed only the free plan. So the honest answer to “what does Shopexer cost beyond free” is that we do not know, and neither will you until you ask them or create an account.
Two phrases on the homepage are worth reading closely. “Zero commission on the Shopexer shipping plan” suggests the commission terms are tied to using their shipping, which may or may not mean different terms if you ship another way. And “custom subdomain” is not the same as a custom domain; your store address will include Shopexer’s name unless there is a paid option we could not see.
None of this is a criticism of the product. It is a gap in public information, and for a seller deciding where to put a catalogue they will maintain for years, gaps matter. If you are evaluating Shopexer, get the paid terms and the domain policy in writing before you move your bio link.
Shopexer is a good fit if…
- You sell jewellery, fashion or similar products through Instagram and want a free link-in-bio store with UPI and card checkout, set up from your phone.
- You want an iOS app to manage orders and do not want to touch a laptop.
- You are happy with a subdomain address and one storefront look, and do not need to customise layouts, headings or product-page styles.
- You are not running paid Instagram ads yet, so server-side conversion tracking is not on your list.
- You like that shipping and WhatsApp updates are bundled, and you are comfortable with the commission terms being tied to Shopexer’s shipping plan.
If that describes you, Shopexer is a reasonable place to start, and starting free is the right instinct. The rest of this page is for sellers who have ticked one of those boxes and found it limiting.

Where SitesPlaced goes further
Design you can actually change. Shopexer gives you one storefront style on its subdomain. SitesPlaced has 17 storefront themes, all on the free plan, and every heading, paragraph, hero image, menu item, footer column and product-page style is editable. A jewellery brand and a grocery store should not look the same, and on SitesPlaced they do not.
Your own domain. On the ₹499/month Ecommerce plan (early-bird; ₹999/month after the first 30 stores) you get a custom domain with one-click DNS for Indian registrars, and the SitesPlaced badge comes off. Your store address is your brand.
Ads that can see your sales. The same plan includes Meta Pixel plus the Conversions API. Purchase events go to Meta from our server, once per paid order, deduplicated, with your own credentials, so Instagram ad optimisation is based on real orders. Why that matters if you plan to spend even ₹200 a day on ads.
WhatsApp from your number. Shopexer sends WhatsApp order updates. SitesPlaced’s ₹499 plan sends the owner alert and the customer confirmation from your own WhatsApp Business number through Meta’s Cloud API, with credentials you control, so replies come to you and the sender name is your brand. WhatsApp checkout itself is free.
Two shipping partners, plus COD. Shiprocket and Shipmozo are both integrated free, with AWB generation and a Track Order page. Cash on delivery, with an optional COD charge, sits alongside Razorpay’s UPI, cards, net banking and wallets.
AI, chat editing and the importer. AI writes product and section copy on the paid plan. ChatGPT and Claude can create or edit your store through our MCP server. And the store importer rebuilds a Shopexer store from one pasted URL, so trying SitesPlaced costs you a few minutes rather than an afternoon of re-uploading.
Web dashboard plus Android app. SitesPlaced runs in the browser on any device and has an Android app for orders on the go. Shopexer wins on iOS today; we are clear about that.
Moving from Shopexer
If you have read this far and want to try the other side, the process is one paste. Open the importer, drop in your Shopexer store URL, and review the rebuilt catalogue on a theme of your choice. Your Shopexer store keeps running until you change the link in your bio. The full walkthrough, including what to check after import and how to connect Razorpay and shipping, is in our Shopexer migration guide.
Sellers in the same category who run on SitesPlaced: The House of Urmila (jewellery) and Surroor House (t-shirts). If you sell mostly through Instagram and WhatsApp, the Instagram sellers page shows the setup end to end.
Verdict
Shopexer does what it says on the homepage: a free, zero-commission, mobile-first catalogue for Instagram sellers, with payments, WhatsApp updates and shipping handled, and an iOS app that most rivals lack. Its weaknesses are the ones that show up after the first month of selling rather than the first day: one storefront look, a subdomain instead of your own domain, no visible Meta Conversions API, and paid terms we could not find publicly. If your store is a side project, start there and do not overthink it. If you are building a brand you expect to run ads for, the free tier on SitesPlaced gives you the same zero-commission baseline with 17 designs and two shipping partners, and the ₹499 plan adds the domain and the ad tracking when you need them.
Frequently asked questions
Is Shopexer free?
Shopexer advertises a free forever plan at ₹0/month with zero commission on its shipping plan, no hidden fees, a custom subdomain, unlimited products, inventory, UPI, card and wallet payments, WhatsApp order updates, order tracking and integrated shipping, as shown on its homepage in August 2026. Its public pricing page returned a 404 when we checked, so we could not confirm any paid tiers. Plans change, so confirm before you commit.
Does Shopexer have an app?
Yes. Shopexer is mobile-first and lists an app on both Google Play and the App Store. SitesPlaced has a web dashboard plus an Android app on Google Play; an iOS app is not available yet.
What does Shopexer pricing look like beyond the free plan?
We could not find out. When we checked in August 2026 the Shopexer pricing page returned a 404 and the homepage showed only the free plan. The free plan mentions zero commission specifically on the Shopexer shipping plan. If you need exact terms for paid features, ask Shopexer directly before building on it.
Shopexer vs SitesPlaced: what is the main difference?
Both are free to publish with unlimited products and zero commission. SitesPlaced adds 17 editable storefront themes, Razorpay plus cash on delivery plus WhatsApp checkout, Shiprocket and Shipmozo shipping, coupons and invoices on the free plan, and a ₹499/month plan with a custom domain, Meta Pixel plus Conversions API, WhatsApp Business API alerts from your own number and AI copy. It also imports a Shopexer store in one paste.
Can I move from Shopexer to SitesPlaced without re-uploading products?
Yes. Paste your Shopexer store URL into the SitesPlaced importer at /import. Products, prices, images, variants and categories are rebuilt as a SitesPlaced store you can edit and publish free. The step-by-step guide is at /blog/shopexer-alternative-sitesplaced.
Who is Shopexer best for?
Instagram sellers, especially in jewellery and fashion, who want a free mobile-first catalogue with UPI payments and WhatsApp order updates, are happy on a Shopexer subdomain, and do not need a custom domain, Meta Conversions API, multiple storefront designs or deep copy editing.
See your Shopexer store on 17 themes. Free.
Paste the URL, pick a design, publish with Razorpay, COD and Shiprocket at 0% commission. Add your own domain and Meta CAPI for ₹499/month when you are ready.
