A Judge.me alternative for stores that don't want another app to pay for.
Judge.me is one of the better reviews apps in the Shopify world: a real free tier, review request emails, photo reviews, Google rich snippets. The reasons someone searches for an alternative are usually practical — they are leaving Shopify, they are tired of the app count on a small store, or they want reviews to be part of the store rather than a widget bolted on. SitesPlaced answers that by building product reviews into every store, free. This is a fair comparison of the two, including where Judge.me is still the better choice.
What Judge.me does well
It would be a poor comparison that pretended otherwise. Judge.me has a genuinely useful free plan, unlimited review requests on it, photo and video reviews, a Q&A widget, and on paid tiers it does Google Shopping review feeds, review syndication and a large set of widgets — carousels, badges, all-reviews pages. It runs on Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Squarespace and a few others, so it is portable across platforms. Its support and documentation are good. If you are on Shopify and happy, there is no reason to leave Judge.me for its own sake.
Its limitations are the ones every add-on app has: it is a separate account with its own dashboard, its own emails going out under its own branding on the free plan, another JavaScript widget on the product page, and — when you migrate platforms — one more thing to move. Pricing beyond the free tier starts around $15 a month and rises with order volume; check their pricing page for the current figures.
What SitesPlaced does instead
On SitesPlaced, reviews are not an app. They are part of the order flow: a buyer whose order is marked delivered gets a *How was your order?* email with a Rate it button per product; the review lands in the merchant's Reviews tab as pending; the merchant approves, rejects or replies; approved reviews show on the product page with a Verified purchase badge and feed the product's structured data so Google can show stars. For buyers with only a phone number, the merchant copies a review link from the order and sends it on WhatsApp — which, for Indian stores, is where most conversations already are.
It is free on every plan, with no limit on reviews, and it needs no script or widget — the reviews are rendered by the product page itself, in the store's own colours.

The real difference: an app versus part of the store
The table hides the thing that matters day to day. With an app, reviews live in a second dashboard, the emails go out on the app's schedule, and the product page loads the app's script. With reviews built in, the review request is a consequence of marking an order delivered, the moderation queue sits next to the orders, and the product page already knows its own rating. There is nothing to keep in sync and nothing that can be uninstalled by accident.
The trade-off is breadth. Judge.me has years of widgets and options; SitesPlaced has the core loop — request, verify, approve, reply, show, feed Google — and not much else yet. For a store that wants photo uploads, a Q&A section or a homepage carousel today, Judge.me is ahead.
If you are leaving Shopify with Judge.me reviews
You keep them. Import your products first (the importer reads a Shopify or WooCommerce store), then paste your Judge.me private API token under Settings → Integrations → Judge.me. Reviews come across with their dates, ratings, text, photos and verified status, matched to products by name; anything unmatched is filed with one dropdown. The step-by-step is in import your Judge.me reviews.
Which is better?
Stay with Judge.me if you are on Shopify and rely on photo reviews, Q&A, the carousel widgets or the Google Shopping feed — those are real features and SitesPlaced doesn't have them yet.
Choose SitesPlaced if you are a small store in India or anywhere else that wants verified reviews without another subscription, wants the review request to reach WhatsApp-only buyers, and would rather have reviews as part of the store than as a widget. It is free, it needs no script, and if you are migrating, your Judge.me history comes with you.
For most stores doing under a few hundred orders a month, the built-in system covers what actually moves sales: honest verified reviews on the product page and stars in Google. That is the recommendation.
FAQs
Is SitesPlaced's review system really free?
Yes. Collecting reviews, the delivery review email, the WhatsApp review link, approval and replies, star ratings in Google and the Judge.me import are all included on the free plan with no review limit. The ₹499/month Ecommerce plan is about your domain, branding, analytics, ad tracking and WhatsApp API alerts — not reviews.
Can I use Judge.me on a SitesPlaced store?
Not as an installed app — SitesPlaced doesn't run third-party storefront apps. You can import your Judge.me reviews into the built-in system, and the six-hourly sync keeps adding new ones while your old store is still live.
Does SitesPlaced support photo reviews?
Photos on imported Judge.me reviews are shown. Native photo upload on new reviews is not available yet; the form takes a star rating, a title and text.
Will Google show star ratings for my products?
Approved reviews are written into each product page's structured data as an aggregateRating with the latest reviews, which makes the page eligible for a star snippet. Google decides when and whether to show it, usually within days to weeks.
