Why a second aggregator is worth having

Courier aggregators do not all quote the same price for the same parcel, and they do not all serve the same pincodes. On a 500g parcel to a tier-3 town, the gap between two aggregators is routinely enough to matter on a ₹600 order.

Having two connected turns that from a guess into a number you can read. Push the order, look at what each one quotes, book the cheaper one. That is a margin improvement you get on every parcel, forever, for the cost of one setup.

It is also insurance. Aggregator panels go down, and pickups get suspended in a region without warning. A second account means that is an inconvenience rather than a day of unshipped orders.

What the integration actually does

The credential model, and why it is nicer

Shipmozo issues a public key and a private key per merchant, sent on every request. There is no login, no token to mint, and nothing that expires.

That sounds like a small detail and it is not. Integrations that authenticate with your dashboard email and password break the day you change your password — which is exactly the day you are least expecting your store to stop shipping. Static keys do not have that failure mode.

Your private key is encrypted before it is stored and stripped out of every page your website sends to a browser. More on that in how we handle your keys.

How status updates work

Shipmozo documents no inbound webhooks, so status is pulled rather than pushed. A scheduled job syncs tracking for active shipments, and there is a Sync tracking button on the order for when you want an answer immediately rather than at the next cycle.

This is worth stating plainly rather than glossing over: it means a status change can take a little longer to appear than it would with a webhook-based courier. In exchange you get an aggregator with a simpler credential model and, often, a better rate. Both are connected free, so you can use whichever suits the parcel.
