An AI co-founder that reads your store’s real numbers

By SitesPlaced Founder · July 20, 2026

Generic AI gives generic business advice — it can’t tell you why your store had 340 visits and one order last week. Ledger, the SitesPlaced Co-founder agent, can: it reads your store’s actual sales, visitors, conversion, best-sellers and recent orders, then answers like a co-founder — what’s working, what’s broken, and the one thing to fix next. It never invents a number, and it’s included with the paid store plan.

What Ledger actually reads

Before answering a performance question, Ledger pulls your store’s data for the window you ask about. Six things, all real:

Traffic

Visits and unique visitors over 7, 30 or 90 days, with the trend against the previous period.

Conversion funnel

Visitors → viewed a product → purchased, plus your conversion rate — so you can see exactly where people drop off.

Sales

Orders and revenue for the window, including payment status and method.

Best-sellers

Your top products by units and revenue, computed from real (non-cancelled) orders — not guesses.

Recent orders

Order numbers, dates, statuses, totals and items — with customer names, phones and addresses stripped out; only city and state remain.

Where visitors come from

Top referrers and pages, plus the device and location split of your audience.

What a conversation looks like

The tone is deliberate: insight first, numbers second, then one or two things you can do today. Here’s an illustrative exchange for a small store:

You: Why am I getting visits but no orders?

Ledger: Your leak is before checkout. Last 30 days: 412 visits, but only 31 people opened a product page — the homepage isn't moving visitors to products. Zero orders here isn't a pricing problem yet. Two things to try this week: put your most-viewed product in the hero, and cut the homepage to one clear “Shop now”. Builder, in the next tab, can draft both.

You: And what sold best last month?

Ledger: Honestly, the data is too thin to name a best-seller — you had 2 orders in that window, both including the Terracotta Planter Set. I'd treat traffic, not catalog, as the real bottleneck right now.

Notice the second answer: where most AI would happily crown a “best-seller” from two orders, Ledger declines and points at the actual problem. Small stores are the norm here, and zero orders is treated as a starting point — not something to dress up.

The rule that makes it trustworthy: no invented numbers

Ledger operates under one hard constraint: every number it states must come from your store’s data, fetched in that conversation. No estimates, no industry benchmarks presented as your figures, no extrapolating a “trend” from three data points. If the data is empty or too thin, it says exactly that. Advice you might act on with real money has to be grounded — an advisor that fills gaps with plausible-sounding fiction is worse than no advisor.

How this differs from asking ChatGPT

Ask a generic chatbot “how do I get more sales?” and you’ll get the same listicle everyone gets: post on social media, run ads, improve your SEO. It has never seen your store. To make it useful you’d have to screenshot your analytics, paste your product list, and repeat that every week — and it still can’t tell your conversion funnel from your neighbour’s.

Ledger starts on the other side of that gap. It lives in your dashboard, reads your live data on every question, and knows how SitesPlaced works — so “fix your hero” comes with the fact that Builder, the free editing agent, is one tab away and will draft the fix as an Apply card. Ledger itself is deliberately read-only: it can’t touch your store, which is exactly why you can trust what it says about it. The full safety model is covered in AI agents for small business.

Included with the plan you may already have

Ledger isn’t a separate subscription. It comes with the ₹499/month store plan — the same plan that gets you a custom domain, branding removal and store analytics — with a fair-use limit of 60 messages a day and no per-question fees. On the free plan (which still publishes your store free, with UPI, COD and WhatsApp checkout), Builder remains free and Ledger shows an upgrade screen rather than a watered-down version. Frequently asked questions

Does the AI ever make up numbers?

No — this is Ledger's hard rule. Every figure it states must come from your store's data fetched in that conversation. If the data is empty or too thin to support a conclusion, it says so plainly instead of estimating. You'll never get a fabricated benchmark or an extrapolated trend.

Can it change my store?

No. Ledger is read-only by design — it advises. When a fix needs an actual edit (a new hero, a reworded product), it tells you what to change and hands you to Builder, the free editing agent in the same panel, where every edit still requires you to press Apply.

Can it see my customers' personal information?

No. Customer names, emails, phone numbers and addresses are stripped before any order data reaches the AI. Ledger sees what it needs to advise you — amounts, items, dates, and the buyer's city or state — and nothing that identifies a person.

My store is new and has no sales. Is it still useful?

Yes — arguably most useful then. Zero orders is treated as a starting point, not a failure: Ledger looks at whether your problem is traffic, conversion or catalog, and gives you the first fixable thing. What it won't do is pretend there's a trend in two data points.

Is it an extra subscription?

No. Ledger is included with the ₹499/month store plan — the same plan that gives you a custom domain, branding removal and store analytics. There's no separate AI fee and no per-question charge, with a fair-use limit of 60 messages a day. On the free plan you still get Builder free; Ledger shows an upgrade screen.
