AI agents for small business: meet your site’s new team
By SitesPlaced Founder · July 20, 2026
An AI agent is software you talk to that can actually do work — not just answer questions. For a small business, that means an assistant that edits your website, reads your sales numbers, or drafts your WhatsApp marketing when you ask, in plain language. SitesPlaced ships a team of four agents inside every dashboard: Builder (free for everyone), plus Co-founder, Growth and SEO on paid plans. Each one proposes its work as a card in the chat — nothing touches your live site until you press Apply.
Chatbot vs agent — the difference that matters
A chatbot tells you howto change your hero banner. An agent opens your actual site, reads the current headline, writes a better one, and queues the edit for your approval. That’s the whole difference: agents are connected to your real store — your products, your copy, your analytics — so “change it” is something they can do, not just describe.
The catch with most AI tools is trust: you don’t want software silently rewriting a shop that feeds your family. So SitesPlaced Agents are built around one rule — they can propose, only you can apply. Here’s the team.
Builder (“Brix”) — edits your site with you · Free
Brix is the hands-on one, and it’s free on every account. It rewrites copy, restyles sections, changes themes, adds and updates products, publishes your site — and answers how-do-I questions using real SitesPlaced Help Center articles rather than guessing.
You: Change my announcement bar to announce a weekend sale.
Brix: Here's what I'd put up: “Weekend Sale — 10% off everything till Sunday night”. I've prepared the change — review the card below and press Apply to make it live.
It also handles “Add a product called Masala Chai for ₹249” or a question typed in Hinglish. The full walkthrough is in Edit your website by chatting.
Co-founder (“Ledger”) — knows your numbers · Paid
Ledger reads your store’s real data — visits, conversion, orders, revenue, best-sellers — and answers like a straight-talking co-founder. Every number it states comes from your store; if the data is too thin to conclude anything, it says so instead of inventing a trend.
You: How did my store do this week?
Ledger: 212 visits, up from 178 last week. 3 orders for ₹2,347 — all three included your Almond Brittle, your best-seller this month. The leak: most visitors leave the homepage without opening a product. Feature the Brittle in your hero — Builder can draft it.
Ledger itself is read-only by design — it advises, and hands the edit to Builder. Deep dive: An AI co-founder that reads your store’s real numbers.
Growth (“Bloom”) — marketing that gets written · Paid
Bloom writes ready-to-send marketing from your actual catalog: WhatsApp broadcasts, Instagram captions, product descriptions, and simple festival campaigns for Diwali, Raksha Bandhan, Eid or Christmas. It reads your products and best-sellers first, so it never advertises a discount or item you don’t have.
You: Plan a Raksha Bandhan campaign for my store.
Bloom: Three pieces: a WhatsApp broadcast built around your gift hampers, an Instagram caption for the best-selling one, and an announcement bar for the store — “Rakhi gifting is open 🎁 Order by Aug 26 for delivery in time”. Want me to prepare the announcement bar? You'll get an Apply card.
That last part matters: Bloom can put the campaign onyour store — announcement bars, hero copy, product descriptions — through the same Apply flow. And it won’t promise you’ll go viral, because nobody can.
SEO (“Beacon”) — gets you found on Google · Paid
Beacon writes search-friendly titles, descriptions and keywords for your pages and products, and answers “how do I get on Google?” in plain language with exact dashboard steps. It grounds every keyword in what your site actually sells, rewrites copy without keyword-stuffing it, and is honest that SEO compounds over weeks — it will never promise a ranking or a timeline.
The Apply button — why this is safe
Every edit any agent wants to make appears as a “Proposed change”card with a one-line summary — “Update store settings”, “Add product Masala Chai”. Until you press Apply, nothing has happened; dismiss the card and it never will. Three more guardrails are built in:
- • No delete abilities. The agents have no tools to remove products, pages or orders — at all.
- • Customer privacy. Names, emails, phones and addresses are stripped before order data reaches the AI; agents see amounts, items and the buyer’s city, nothing personal.
- • Saved conversations. Chats persist per site and per agent, so advice and pending cards are there when you come back.
The chat panel says it plainly under every conversation: the agent can make mistakes — changes only go live when you press Apply.
What’s free and what’s paid — honestly
Builder is free for everyone, including the free plan, with a fair-use limit of 40 messages a day. Co-founder, Growth and SEO are included with the paid plans you may already have — the ₹499/month store plan (which also gets you a custom domain, branding removal and analytics) or the ₹199/month website plan for SEO on regular sites. There is no separate AI subscription and no per-message fee. If an agent isn’t on your plan, it shows an upgrade screen instead of a chat — full details on the pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
Will the agents change my site without asking?
No — that's the core design rule. When an agent wants to edit anything, it shows a 'Proposed change' card in the chat describing exactly what it will do, and nothing happens until you press Apply. You can dismiss any card, and the agents have no delete abilities at all — they cannot remove products, pages or orders even if asked.
Do the agents work in Hindi?
Yes. The agents reply in whatever language you write in — English, Hindi, Hinglish or anything else. Type 'hero headline thoda catchy banao' and Builder answers in Hinglish and drafts the copy the same way. There's no language setting to configure; it simply mirrors you.
What can the free agent actually do?
Builder (Brix) is free on every account, including the free plan. It edits your site or store by chat — rewriting headlines and sections, changing themes and settings, adding or updating products, publishing your site — and answers how-do-I questions using real SitesPlaced Help Center articles. Every edit still goes through the Apply card.
Can the agents see my customers' personal details?
No. Customer names, emails, phone numbers and addresses are stripped before any order data reaches the AI. The Co-founder agent sees order numbers, amounts, items and the buyer's city or state — enough to advise you, never enough to identify a customer.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The agents live inside your existing SitesPlaced dashboard — open any site and tap the glowing orb in the bottom corner to chat, or visit the Agents page ('Meet your AI team') to see the whole roster. Conversations are saved, so you can close the panel and pick up where you left off.
Meet your AI team — the first one’s free
Create a site or store free, open the dashboard, and tap the orb. Builder is included on every account — and it will always ask before changing anything.
