SitesPlaced now supports Shippo — labels without a monthly fee
Buy a discounted courier label straight from the order, on your own Shippo account. Roughly 5c a label, no monthly minimum, free plan.
Shippo is now built into every SitesPlaced store, free. Paste a Live API token from your own Shippo account and you can compare carrier rates, buy a label and print it without leaving the order. Labels are bought on your Shippo balance at their discounted rates — SitesPlaced adds nothing and takes 0% of your sales.
TL;DR
- • Free plan. 0% SitesPlaced commission — labels are billed to your own Shippo account.
- • About 5c a label, pay as you go, with no monthly minimum.
- • USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL and Royal Mail, at Shippo's negotiated rates.
- • Your sender address is stored once rather than typed on every order.
- • The AWB, carrier and label land on the order, so Track Order lights up for the customer automatically.
Why Shippo, specifically
Shippo was chosen over the obvious alternatives on one number: about 5c per label, pay as you go, with no monthly minimum.
That matters more than a rate-card comparison suggests. A store shipping twenty orders a month cannot justify a platform with a $50 monthly floor — the floor costs more than the shipping does. A monthly minimum is not a pricing detail for a small seller; it is the thing that stops them adopting proper shipping at all and keeps them queuing at the post office.
Everything else follows from that. Discounted carrier rates that would normally need volume you do not have, on an account you own, with no commitment.
What it does from inside an order
- • Compare rates across USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL and Royal Mail for the parcel in front of you.
- • Buy the label on your own Shippo balance at their discounted rate.
- • Print it — and the tracking number is recorded on the order at the same moment.
- • Track Order lights up for the customer with no extra step from you.
The results are written into the same shipping fields Shiprocket and Shipmozo use, so the order drawer, the customer's tracking page and the mobile app all work identically regardless of which one shipped the parcel. One shape to learn, not three.
Your sender address, stored once
Shippo needs a from-address on every label. Typing it per order is the kind of small friction that quietly stops people using a feature, so it is stored once against the store and reused.
It is also treated as owner-only data. Your home or warehouse address is on every label you print, and it has no business appearing on a public storefront page — so it is stripped from anything the website sends to a browser.
Test mode, and the one thing to watch
Shippo issues test tokens as well as live ones, and test mode is genuinely useful for rehearsing the flow. One thing to know before you rely on it: test labels are not accepted by carriers. They look like labels and they will not ship a parcel.
Switch to a live token before your first real order. This is the same class of mistake as leaving a payment gateway in sandbox — everything looks right until a parcel comes back.
If you do not have the website yet
Everything above assumes you already have a store to connect Shippo to. If you are still taking orders in DMs, that is the part worth fixing first — the integration is the easy half.
A SitesPlaced store is free to build and publish, with 0% commission on every sale, on every plan. Every integration on this page is included — you connect your own accounts and nobody takes a cut in the middle.
Selling into India as well? Shiprocket, Shipmozo and Rehbar Post are included free too. Step-by-step: how to connect Shippo to your ecommerce website.
Frequently asked questions
Does SitesPlaced charge for Shippo?
No. The integration is on the free plan and SitesPlaced takes 0% of your sales. Labels are billed to your own Shippo account at their rates — we add nothing on top.
How much does Shippo cost?
Around 5c per label on the pay-as-you-go plan, with no monthly minimum, plus the carrier's own postage at Shippo's discounted rates. The absence of a monthly floor is why it suits a store shipping twenty orders a month.
Which carriers does it cover?
USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL and Royal Mail among others, at the rates Shippo has negotiated. Which ones appear depends on the parcel and the destination.
Can I test before going live?
Yes, with a Shippo test token — but test labels are not accepted by carriers. Switch to a live token before you ship anything real.
Can I use Shippo and Shiprocket together?
Yes. Shippo covers US, UK and international parcels; Shiprocket, Shipmozo and Rehbar Post cover India. All four are free on every SitesPlaced plan.
