The best Sellfy alternative in 2026 — no earnings cap, and a store that looks like yours
Sellfy advertises zero transaction fees, then limits how much you are allowed to earn on each plan. Here is how the caps work, what the 2% overage really costs, and the two complaints that come up in almost every Sellfy review.
SitesPlaced is cheaper than Sellfy at every tier and has no revenue cap at all. Sellfy's plans run $29, $59 and $119/month billed yearly, each with an annual sales limit of roughly $10,000, $50,000 and $200,000 — and a 2% fee on anything above it until you upgrade. SitesPlaced is $14.99/month flat with no cap, 17 editable themes instead of about 10 rigid ones, and a blog Sellfy does not have. Sellfy still wins if you need print-on-demand merch or their built-in email campaigns.
TL;DR
- • Sellfy: $29/$59/$119 a month with annual sales caps of about $10k/$50k/$200k, plus 2% over the cap.
- • SitesPlaced: $14.99/month, no cap, 0% commission at any volume.
- • Even Sellfy's most expensive plan stops at $200,000 a year — the most common complaint in their reviews.
- • The second most common: around 10 themes, no HTML or CSS editing, so every Sellfy store looks like a Sellfy store.
- • Sellfy genuinely wins on print-on-demand merch and built-in email marketing. We do not do either yet.
How the caps actually work
Sellfy's headline is "zero transaction fees". Technically true — and then each plan carries an annual sales limit, with a 2% fee on revenue above it until you move up a tier. It is a commission, framed as a plan limit.
| Plan | Price (yearly billing) | Annual sales limit | Over the limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sellfy Starter | $29/month | about $10,000 | 2% on the excess |
| Sellfy Business | $59/month | about $50,000 | 2% on the excess |
| Sellfy Premium | $119/month | about $200,000 | 2% on the excess |
| SitesPlaced | $14.99/month | None | Nothing — 0% at any volume |

The design is clever and it is why we take Sellfy seriously as a competitor. It is also the thing sellers resent once they are growing: being charged more for succeeding, on a plan that already said zero fees.
The other complaint: every store looks the same
Read any set of Sellfy reviews from 2026 and the same sentence appears: the themes are stylish but rigid. Around ten of them, no theme marketplace, and no HTML or CSS editing. For a platform aimed at creative people, that is an odd place to stop.
- • 17 store themes here, all free, all editable — including per-section fonts, colours, spacing and alignment.
- • AI that writes and designs the first version from a description of what you make, then hands it to you to change.
- • A real blog, which Sellfy does not have at all — awkward for a creator platform, since content is how most creators get found.
What Sellfy does better
Two genuine advantages, and if either is central to your business you should stay.
- • Print-on-demand merch, fulfilled from their own centres. We integrate with Qikink in India; Printful and Printify are on our roadmap but not shipped.
- • Built-in email marketing and cart-abandonment emails, metered by plan. We collect subscribers but do not send campaigns yet.
- • Larger file uploads — Sellfy allows up to 20GB per file, we cap at 2GB today.

Frequently asked questions
Does Sellfy really limit how much I can earn?
Their plans list annual sales limits — roughly $10,000, $50,000 and $200,000 — and a 2% fee on revenue above the limit until you upgrade. Confirm the current numbers on their pricing page, as plans change.
Is SitesPlaced cheaper than Sellfy?
Yes at every tier. $14.99/month against their $29, $59 and $119, and there is no cap on what you can earn on any of our plans.
Can I make my store look different?
That is the main reason people move. 17 themes, all editable, with per-section control over fonts, colours and spacing, plus AI that designs the first version from a description of your business.
What does Sellfy do that SitesPlaced doesn't?
Print-on-demand merch fulfilment, built-in email marketing campaigns, and larger file uploads (20GB versus our 2GB). If any of those is central to how you sell, Sellfy is the better fit today.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Publish free with a small SitesPlaced badge, unlimited physical products and one live digital download. Sellfy has no free plan, only a 14-day trial.
