Build your website on SitesPlaced

“I want a real website with my name on it”

Six lessons from a blank browser tab to a published site on your own domain: the account, the editor and the words, publishing and sharing, your domain, Google, and the Importer shortcut.

For: Freelancers, small businesses, creators and students — anyone who wants a site before a store, or instead of one.

A website is the page you send people to when they ask what do you do? It is where a Pune bakery shows its cakes and its WhatsApp number, where a Bengaluru designer lists her services with prices, where a Jaipur jeweller tells the story behind the workshop. It does not need to sell anything yet. It needs to say who you are, what you offer and how to reach you — and to be live on a link you can put in your Instagram bio tonight.

This course takes you from no account to a published site in six short lessons: create the account and the site, write the words, publish and share the link, put your own domain on it, help Google find it, and — if you already have an Instagram page, a website or a résumé — let the Importer build the first draft for you. Each lesson links to the Help Center guide for the clicks, so the lessons can stay about the decisions.

If you sell products and want a cart and checkout, Open your online store is the course for that; a website and a store can live side by side in the same account. If you have not yet decided what to sell or what to call it, Start your online business in India comes first.

Free, with one badge

Building and publishing a website on SitesPlaced is free, with a small Made using sitesplaced.com badge in the corner. The first three lessons cost nothing. Lesson four, your own domain, is the first thing that needs the Starter plan.

Lessons

  1. 1

Create your account and your first site

Sign up without a card, find your way around the Dashboard, pick a template, and choose Start from Scratch unless you are on a paid plan.

    5 min

  2. 2

Edit sections and write your copy

Find your way around the editor, then write the four things every site needs: a headline, an about, services with prices, and a one-tap contact.

    5 min

  3. 3

    Publish and share your link

One click to go live on your free address, then the five places the link should be by tonight — and why edits never change it.

    4 min

  4. 4

    Your own domain

Why yourname.in beats a free address, where to buy one, the Starter plan, and the two ways to connect it without breaking anything.

    5 min

  5. 5

    Get found on Google

What Google actually needs from a small site — a clear title, a page per service, real text with your city in it, a sitemap — and why patience is part of the job.

    5 min

  6. 6

    The Importer shortcut

Let SitesPlaced build the first draft from your Instagram, your old website or a PDF — free, preview first — and the checklist to run before you share it.
