You are warmly invited to celebrate our wedding day with us
January 14, 2026 · The Cotswolds, England
Save the Date
On a cold, candle-lit night in the heart of the Cotswolds, we are gathering everyone we love to mark the beginning of forever. Set the date aside, pour something warm, and come celebrate with us — the full schedule, the venue and your RSVP are all just below.
Emma & James
Our Story
Not the version we tell strangers — the real one, with all its accidental, perfect timing.
Where it began
We met on the last train out of London on a rainy Thursday. James was reading the same novel Emma had finished the week before, so she leaned over to spoil the ending — and somehow that was that. We talked until the line ended and neither of us has stopped since.
Four years later
He proposed quietly at home one January evening, with the fire lit and snow falling against the window. No crowd, no fuss — just the two of us, a small black box, and a yes that came before he'd even finished the question.
The Venue
Sudeley Castle · Winchcombe, Gloucestershire
A thousand years of history, ten acres of award-winning gardens, and a great hall lit entirely by candlelight after dark. We fell for Sudeley the moment we saw it at dusk — and we can't wait for you to see it the same way.

Where to Stay
We have carefully selected several beautiful places to stay near the venue. We recommend booking early — Winchcombe is small and rooms go quickly in January.
Dress Code
It's a winter black-tie celebration in a candle-lit castle. Dress to feel wonderful — and bring a warm layer for the courtyard.
Black tie. A dinner jacket and bow tie are perfect; a sharp dark suit is just as welcome. Warm overcoats encouraged for the walk between the great hall and the gardens.
Floor-length or cocktail-length evening wear in deep, rich tones. Heels that can handle stone floors are wise, and a wrap or coat for the colder corners of the castle.
The Wedding Day
Here is how the evening will unfold. Times may shift by a few minutes, but we'll keep you in the warm and well fed throughout.
We say our vows in the candle-lit chapel as the winter light fades. Please be seated by 3:15pm so we can begin together.
Step through to the great hall for champagne, mulled wine and warm canapés while we steal away for a handful of photographs.
A long-table winter feast of seasonal British dishes, with speeches somewhere between the main and the cheese.
We cut the cake, then surrender to a table of desserts, coffee, and far too much chocolate.
The band strikes up our first dance and the floor is yours for the rest of the night.
Carriages at half past midnight. Taxis can be pre-booked, and there will be a few on standby by the gatehouse.
RSVP
Please let us know by November 30, 2025 so we can finalise numbers with the castle. We truly hope you can be there.
